Lycanroc's two forms being version exclusives is utter bullshit. Luckily trading is so easy these days. I just have to be sure to get one with the right Nature and leave the rest to Hyper Training if necessary. I definitely want to train them both.
The new monkeys don't look bad either. We already have tons of monkey Pokémon, but I'm cool with that because Passimian and Oranguru have such interesting concepts and Receiver could be a great Ability if used correctly. Instruct could wreak havoc on opposing teams too.

I honestly didn't expect that we'd get Ash-Greninja in the games, so I think I'll use him just to screw with the haters. I'm 100% sure I won't use any Mega Evolutions, though. My team will be nothing but new Alolan Pokémon, a few of the most interesting Alolan Forms and Ash-Greninja.
In other news, Join Avenue is back with a different name! I always loved Join Avenue in White 2. It made EV training ridiculously easy as long as I had enough money to pay for it, which I usually did. I'm not that excited about communicating with other players or doing missions, but I sure as heck will make good use of Festival Plaza's services to power up my team.
As for the Poké Pelago, I think it's adorable. Finally my Boxed Pokémon get to do fun stuff instead of gathering dust inside a computer forever. Not only that, but attracting wild Pokémon to join my team sounds great too. I just hope there will be a way to choose which species of Pokémon to attract instead of the Pokémon that show up being completely random.
Oh yeah, and Dartrix, Torracat and Brionne are cool too. I'm still going with Popplio, but it looks like I'll have to make sure to get a female.

Majority of people's reaction to Ash-Greninja in the anime; "OH MY GOD! SO COOL! AWESOME! XYZ IS THE BEST SERIES EVER!!!11" Majority of people's reaction to Ash-Greninja in the games; "Get that fucking anime bullshit out of the games please, it's ruining it." The first one: Well this is what people believed, until the Kalos League, now XYZ is being called the worst series ever (it's so hilarious). The second one: People are surprised by this? The anime is a huge promotion for the games, so of course Ash-Greninja would appear. There will be a new Evolutionary Stone called the Ice Stone, this is most likely what is going to be used to evolve Alolan Vulpix into Alolan Ninetales. Oh yeah, and Dartrix, Torracat and Brionne are cool too. I'm still going with Popplio, but it looks like I'll have to make sure to get a female. I'm sorry, but I do not like this mindset people have that all masculine-looking Pokémon must be male and all feminine-looking Pokémon must be female. There's nothing wrong with a female identifying with male traits and a male identifying with female traits. Case in point: Macherie the Machoke from ORAS.

XYZ IS THE BEST SERIES EVER!!!11" I'm sorry, but I do not like this mindset people have that all masculine-looking Pokémon must be male and all feminine-looking Pokémon must be female. There's nothing wrong with a female identifying with male traits and a male identifying with female traits. Case in point: Macherie the Machoke from ORAS. My reaction to Ash-Greninja... Was basically what got me started watching Pokémon again at all, so was basically entirely that... And my reaction to Ash-Greninja in the games... was also that, actually. I NEED more Ash-HAX. I'm still miffed I can't Thunder Armour. I - rather unfortunately, thanks to youtube video titles dammit and I prefer to be as spoiler-free as I can - am getting the spoilered impression that Ash' XYZ league battles... Did not go well, let us say (don't clue me in on the specifics, I'll get to it in m own pace, after I've properly enjoyed the series on DVD). But in my perhaps naive opinion, I idly wonder if it can be any worse than Tobias' cheatin' arse or whatever (that again, I will discover for myself fairly soon) dive the show forced Ash to take in the name of meaningless non-achieval in BW. (And DP was arguably the best arc in the series despite that ending; though XY may surpass it.) The thing I most don't understand is why they don't let him win once in a while. On the basis it would... Actually not really change anything. He's not a Pokémon master just because he won a league, it sure as shit wouldn't stop Ash going "right, next league, next challenge" and pottering off to the next league. He's certainly not going to say "right, won the league, I'm done, now Imma retire," is he? Thinking about it, if anything I tend to have a slight preference for female Pokémon. I dunno; some of it may be that I do have a slight bias more towards female (PC) characters in CRPGs and male in tabletop, though the overall split between them is about even. (And choice of Pokémon trainer characters in the games is basically pretty much always alternating.) Unquestionably, because I am very sad, I let the anime influence me heavily in that sort of regard, at least in earlier generations, where I saw them in the anime first (voice acting plays a large part in forming my first impressions); so that's one influence. And I always mentally gendered my Pokémon before gender (let alone natures and whatnot) was A Thing. So some Pokémon I personally just grok better with as females (Gardevoir, for example or Delcatty or Bunary) and the rest... I mostly don't have a preferences, but if given a preference between, say two otherwise identical starters, the female would generally win the tie-breaker. Certainly, when resetting for a decent starter, I will much more frequently stop and settle if I get a female. Some of it is definitely mechanically breeding-related, reinforced by the HA only being passed by females in earlier gens. Actually, come to this, I particularly owe an apology to Phlostigon, my AS Sun-Team Delphox, because I was FOREVER forgetting he was a male, poor chap. And this was long before I saw XY. He's clearly just a really effeminate male... Sorry dude. Conversely, I'm hard-pressed to think of a Pokémon I would (aside from obviously male-only species) categorise with a preference for males only... Alakazam, maybe? (It was interesting as I checked my spread sheet* a few of my team's Pokémon (ones I havent used for a while), I was like "oh Bladerush (Scyther) is female." Where as some - especially the oldest ones, who have their roots and first incarnations as far back as *cough* G1 emulators - have always been definitively male or female. Slightly psychotic Darkspark (Pikachu) was always male, and Miss-Piggy-tempremented Sleepstar (Jigglypuff) (with Watergun and a mean Megapunch right hook) was always queen of the pack.) It's been an interesting brief reflection, considering how most of this was not so much conscious choice but more sort of natural formations. *Yes, I have a spread sheet. Actually, two, to be honest.

XYZ IS THE BEST SERIES EVER!!!11" Majority of people's reaction to Ash-Greninja in the games; "Get that fucking anime bullshit out of the games please, it's ruining it." Eh, I don't really mind. I bet most of the people who don't want Ash-Greninja in the games never liked the anime in the first place or just haven't watched it in years and think that Ash is still as lame as he was in Kanto (and Unova). The first one: Well this is what people believed, until the Kalos League, now XYZ is being called the worst series ever (it's so hilarious). The second one: People are surprised by this? The anime is a huge promotion for the games, so of course Ash-Greninja would appear. I probably don't keep up with the fandom as well as you, but I haven't seen that many people call XYZ the worst series ever just because of what happened at the League. I was mad as hell too, but there's still no denying that XY is the best series so far or at least just as good as DP. And yes, I really was surprised, but it was a nice surprise. Unlike you, I'll be happy to use Ash-Greninja in Moon. Well, excuse me! It's just a personal preference of mine to make sure that my manly Pokémon are males and girly Pokémon are females. For example, it took me ages to get a female Fennekin in Y, and her Nature ended up being Quiet, which was definitely not my first choice. I decided to settle for it, though, because I didn't want to waste any more time trying to get a female with Modest, Mild, Rash, Timid, Hasty or Naive Nature. I rarely use my main game team in online battles anyway. Also, I own a male Gardevoir named Odin. I've had him for ages, I caught and trained him in my Ruby and he and my other Ruby Pokémon currently exist in my Y. One of Odin's teammates is a female Alakazam named Minerva. Back in those days, I was still a pretty ignorant player and I had no idea how Natures or EVs or any of that stuff worked, so naturally I didn't care about the genders of my Pokémon either. Case in point, Odin has an Adamant Nature and Minerva has a Naughty Nature. (You can probably guess the Nature of my Ruby's starter Pokémon, Jupiter the Swampert.) Also also, I used to draw "art" of my Pokémon a few years back (with Paint... ugh) and Odin was one of my favorite Pokémon to draw. I loved making jokes about him being a male Gardevoir with anger issues because other Pokémon hit on him because they thought he was a girl or otherwise made fun of him. I thought it was amusing, I definitely don't think he deserved it. Anyway, he always ended up blasting those Pokémon off like Team Rocket, because despite having an Adamant Nature, Odin was actually one of my toughest Pokémon in Ruby. I got a streak of 35 wins in the Battle Tower thanks to him being my lead Pokémon. The thing I most don't understand is why they don't let him win once in a while. THANK YOU. I've been saying the same thing for years! Winning a League Tournament doesn't make you the Champion in the anime, much less a Pokémon Master. It only gives you the right to challenge the Elite Four and the Champion if you manage to beat the Elite Four. I very much doubt Ash is ready for that yet, but it wouldn't hurt to let him win a League and give it a try. Unquestionably, because I am very sad, I let the anime influence me heavily in that sort of regard, at least in earlier generations, where I saw them in the anime first (voice acting plays a large part in forming my first impressions); so that's one influence. I mean, winning the Battle Frontier didn't exactly change anything did it? He was offered the position of Frontier Brain (which is, to be honest, pretty reasonable if you wanted to say "Pokémon Master") and he turned it down. Winning a League isn't going to change that, either, because it's become clear for Ash, being a Master is not just about being a strong trainer, its about meeting, befriending and learning about as many Pokémon as he can. (The League is almost-but-not-quite sort of an excuse.) (And, if I'm honest, considering the way he is, the way he deals with Pokémon, especially the legendaries... You could make an entirely reasonable argument that he is ALREADY a master.) ...Wow. I like you more and more after every one of your comments. *tips helmet*

Pokémon Sun & Pokémon Moon - Legendaries Trailer: www.youtube.com/watch?v=fL6QuYi3rpoI never said I didn't like that Ash-Greninja was in Pokémon Sun and Moon, I just said I don't care that much for it. You know its transformation in the games won't be all Gary St-I mean cool like it is in the anime, it will be 'normal'.

Maybe, maybe not. The animations for Z-Moves have been pretty badass, so it's possible that Ash-Greninja's transformation will look cool too.

There's an Alolan Grimer... Shit.
Oh, and Type: Null evolves into a Mini-Arceus and there are more than four Trial Captains. The only new things I like are Jangmo-o's badass evolutions.
