Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon

As we celebrate 20 years since the launch of Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green in Japan, the next era of Pokémon games is being announced! Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon are coming out for systems in the Nintendo 3DS family in holiday 2016, with a new world, new Pokémon, and new adventures to discover! Watch the first teaser for Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon at the top of the page.

Using Pokémon Bank, you'll be able to transfer Pokémon you've caught in the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console versions of Pokémon Red, Pokémon Blue, and Pokémon Yellow into your copy of Pokémon Sun or Pokémon Moon. Pokémon from Pokémon Omega Ruby, Pokémon Alpha Sapphire, Pokémon X, and Pokémon Y can also be brought into Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon in the same way.

Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon will be the first games in the Pokémon series to allow players to choose from nine languages to play in. In addition to English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, and Spanish, players will now be able to play in both Traditional and Simplified Chinese.

Planned Functionality with Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon

Major updates are planned for Pokémon Bank to work with Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon.

Once Pokémon Bank has been updated, you’ll be able to use it to transfer Pokémon you’ve caught in the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console versions of Pokémon Red, Pokémon Blue, and Pokémon Yellow into your copy of Pokémon Sun or Pokémon Moon. Pokémon from Pokémon Omega Ruby, Pokémon Alpha Sapphire, Pokémon X, and Pokémon Y can also be brought into Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon in the same way.

You will be able to use your existing Pokémon Bank account to transfer Pokémon from Pokémon Red, Pokémon Blue, and Pokémon Yellow to Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon. Due to certain limitations, it is recommended that you install Pokémon Red, Pokémon Blue, and Pokémon Yellow on the same Nintendo 3DS system as Pokémon Bank.

Note that Pokémon cannot be moved directly from Pokémon Red, Pokémon Blue, and Pokémon Yellow to Pokémon Omega Ruby, Pokémon Alpha Sapphire, Pokémon X, or Pokémon Y via Pokémon Bank.

The first images from CoroCoro have leaked and have revealed that next month's issue of CoroCoro will provide a huge scoop on Pokémon Sun & Moon. It has text saying that you can't see the Pokémon in the box art yet. We'll bring more as it comes

In the movie section of CoroCoro, it has confirmed that the Mythical Pokémon, Magearna, is to be a Steel/Fairy-type Pokémon

News has appeared that will end up and has ended up disappointing a lot of people: Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon will not be launched globally-

The Consolidated Results for the Years Ended March 31, 2015 and 2016 was published by Nintendo on April 27th, 2016. The report states that the new Nintendo NX system will be launched in March 2017 globally. Also of note, Pokémon Sun and Moon will not launch globally at the same time with Nintendo specifically stating that the games will launch in the United States during the holiday season while Europe is slated for late 2016. This is a significant release schedule change since the release of X and Y which were the first Pokémon games to launch worldwide on the same day and include multiple different languages. Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire were released a week later in Europe on November 28th, 2014 compared to the rest of the world which launched on November 21st, 2014.

The first details for Pokémon Sun & Moon have been revealed. These details come via the first footage of the game which showcases some new Pokémon including the starters and the legends. The Japanese trailer also confirms that you can alter your skin pigment in the game, just like X & Y.

New details have come via the official site. Rowlet knows a new move called Leafage

The person who gives you your Pokémon in the games is a character named Hala

Differentiation in some parts of the trailer show that the character is wearing a slightly different shirt and shorts, potentially indicating that full trainer customisation is back in.

The Sun and Moon mascot Legendary Pokémon look beautiful, the starters are fun looking, but I'll give my full opinion once all their evolved forms appear.

The trailers looked cool. If I were going to buy one of these games, I'd probably start with Popplio. I started with Snivy in Black and Fennekin in Y and the Water-type is supposed to be my favorite type, after all. Plus, Grass/Flying is a pretty terrible combination no matter how cute Rowlet is, and as for Litten, they really couldn't come up with another animal than a cat after we already got Litleo and Pyroar in Gen 6?

My first choice of starter will be whoever has the best evolution, although I'm kind of getting attached to Popplio because of how cute and funny it looks.

I love the new camera angles and also the fact that the characters are in full screen all the time, not just in the cut scenes, a big improvements in the 3D.

I was just looking up what birds live in Hawaii and I wonder if that bird Pokémon shown in the very first trailer is in fact based on the Red-crested cardinal.

From what can be made out of the brief image of the unknown bird Pokémon, you can see the colours and head-shape match perfectly with the bird above.

I see you are not aware of Litten further proving the theory that the Fire-type starter Pokémon are based on animals from the Chinese Zodiac:

I think Litten is the least original of the three, but since it's a cat and it's black and red, of course it's more popular than Popplio. *sigh* I might buy one of the games after all and choose Popplio just to show my support to the underdog.

It has been confirmed that Pokémon Sun & Moon will be featured on Nintendo Treehouse Live @ E3 on June 14th 2016 which feature new information and developer stories, while Pokémon GO will have a Q&A on June 15th 2016 and an E3 2016 Pokémon Special on June 16th 2016.

By the way, you might have notice the players wearing brackets with stones in them.

These are designed differently from Mega Stones and are also on the Japanese titles.

I'm surprised at the type choices for the legendaries. I expected Solgaleo to be at least partly a Fire-type and Lunala to be either a Dark-type or a Fairy-type or both. Guess not. Their moves look awesome, but their abilities are just renamed Clear Body and Multiscale? Really? What is this, Gen 5?

Anyway, Kukui being the Professor is pretty cool. I guess the "young and sexy Professor" is still a thing. No complaints here. "A friendly rival" seems to still be a thing too. I wish it wasn't - I feel so bad kicking my friends' asses. It's so much more satisfying to beat up jerks. Oh well, at least there seems to be only one friendly rival this time. That means he will most likely get a cool full team like Calem/Serena. Tierno, Trevor and Shauna's teams were jokes.

I wonder what's so mysterious about Lillie? Whatever it is, I have a feeling she will be very popular in a certain corner of the Internet...

I realized Solgaleo is basically a lion Metagross, same dual type and they have an Ability which does the same thing, just with a different name.

So it turns out Solgaleo's typing actually does suit it: marshybot.tumblr.com/post/145319973899/why-solgaleos-typing-is-actually-kind-of-fitting

Also Lunala not being Dark-type, people should know by now that type is called Evil-type in Japan, but then again there is Umbreon, so I dunno.
