Hey Ryu, can you please explain the logic behind being happy when the Japanese version of the Pokémon anime is on a break? As in like acting like you're being forced to watch it (which you aren't) or it's affecting what you want to watch (which it's not). Do you hate it when people are talking about the episode that just aired in Japan or something? Whether positive or negative? Ever since SM064 got skipped, people got way the fuck more annoying about their ridiculous TPCi grudge. Just about every week it's been a game of "oh, what'll TPCi cut outta this episode???" (which by the way is why I've been gleeful in telling those fucktards exactly on what counts they were wrong). I mean, when Dogasu ends up being the most reasonable TPCi hater in regards to SM064's skipping, you know we've all died and gone to Hell. You can't seem to understand the ages old philosophy of "if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all." You're entitled to your opinion and you can say what you want. However, if you say something mean or controversial, it will only attract other mean and controversial words.(Some of which may be directed towards you.) Wouldn't it be simpler to keep to unsavory details to yourself so people don't snap at you for every letter you type. I don't want to argue, Ryu. I really don't. I have DOZENS of better things to do. I understand it. I just really hate that saying because it's literally advising opinion censorship.
Now then, I've got an episode to discuss.
Guiding an Awakening!
This episode made the list of best cases in favor of Sarah Natochenny being the definitive Ash. See the scene where Ash resists each of Nanu's taunts about Ash being too doting, and also the Z-Move scene.
At least my number one Ghost guy put up a good fight. Sableye's cool and cute, hence why he's my number one Ghost guy.
All of Lycanroc's development, shoddy though parts of it were, were worth it for this battle. It's taken the place of the Grand Trial Battle versus Olivia as the best of the saga.
Man, that theme for Sableye is so oddly funky. Oh well, at least it wasn't his WTP? card theme this time like in XY. But damn it all, if Miyazaki could only do the game music justice instead of fucking them up, I'd be glad about the overwhelming about of JP battle music kept in this one. But things are how they are, Miyazaki sucks as a remixer and therefore insults the game music with his terrible takes on them, so once again, the dub music is the highlight. No new cues, but some good old ones.
This was a great arc all things considered. Back to Melemele Island now.

Nanu really didn't hold back on the insults, my word. I hope he was at least partially joking, cause there were low blows and nothing else. It did work out in the end by showing that Ash and Lycanroc's bond is stronger than some petty insults AND they got a new move and an exclusive Z-crystal as collateral.
(Also the music was fine, I guess. I couldn't tell cause Nanu was really throwing me off.)

If I had a nickel for every time you insulted TPCI haters and then acted just has petty when addressing the JP Dub, I'd have a lot of nickels. People on the internet can be jerks. Why follow their example? I say this because I know you can be better than that, Ryu. I'm sure of it. (Also if you could fill me in on info regarding the 21st movie dub, that would be appreciated.)

Just like respect, disrespect and hatred is earned. I wasn't born hating JP Pokemon (and actually, I was born before the entire franchise was). The JP version earned my hatred for being a piece of shit that broke its fans' promises about how "awesome" it is. A large section of its fandom earned my disrespect for being intolerant to the idea that people can like the show in a form other than the original. The TPCi haters earned my hatred for how ethically low they sank when they protested TPCi skipping SM064.
What people mistake for meanness from me is just me striking back against abuse. Either that or their devotion to the JP version reached such a demented state that they're so butthurt about my problems with it that they created this funny little headcanon where I'm some different opinion-crushing gestapo who wants to force everyone to love the dub (two confirmed authors of this hilarious narrative are JPRPTrainer98 and Richie Farley).
And regarding M21's dub, supposedly, it's keeping the JP music. As you can guess, I'm livid about that.

I wish TPCI could be a tad more informative nowadays. So it isn't heads or tails on what they intend to do with the episodes they're dubbing. Like previews like every other cartoon in the west. It got promos. Very dated promos. NEBBY is in the promos, that's how old they are. Oh well, a guy can dream...

Okay, here are the step to the "Ultra Guardians' Patented Pokémon Fireworks!"
Step 1: Toss an Electroweb into the air.
Step 2: Enhance said Electroweb via a Physical Electric Type Move and a Special Electric Type move.
Step 3: Decorate with either Bubble or Bubble Beam.
Step 4:Encircle it with either Razor Leaf,Magical Leaf, or Petal Blizzard.
Step 5: Add a special Fire Type move. There's plenty to choose from.
Step 6: A Triple Fire Blast smack-dab it the middle.
Step 7: A light coating of Powder Snow. Any thing stronger with compromise the combination.
Step 8: Any additional moves that won't disrupt any other parts.
Step 9: Your distaction is now complete! Now, hurry and give your foes a wallop with any Pokémon not involved with the fireworks!

"Boom Boom Spark Spark battle" just utterly reeks of overly literal translation. Besides, only Sokka can make a ridiculous name like that sound charming. "Super Pokemon Fireworks" is bland, but much better. And it made for quite the visual spectacle. And hey, it was Ash's idea, so where do people get the idea he's an idiot???
After a certain distressing music announcement was dropped earlier this week, my aversion to JP music has grown even more, so a big BOOOOOOOOOOO!! on TPCi keeping whatever remix of the main theme that was playing over Blacephalon's introduction (can't identify it because, well, you know the state of remixes in the show these days...). The JP music ruins everything it touches, plain and simple. Even seeing its composer's name in the credits irks me to no end. So, as you can imagine, the dub music is very VERY VERY welcome, even when it's average fare like today's (except for reusing the Pikachu vs Surskit theme from XY; that was amazing). But at this point and considering what it replaces, average (for the most part) = masterpiece.
Though this one takes first place for Ultra Guardian episodes in regards to animation and spectacle, it's not as good as the Celesteela one overall.

I highly doubt the fandom is the reason why TPCI has gone back to keeping the original soundtrack for the 21st Pokémon movie.
I bet they've sorted out whatever caused them to have to change music in the XY movies and the I Choose You movie in the first place.
So will I watch this movie dub because of this? Well no, unless Harriet's voice is much better than what was heard in the trailer. For those who don't know, Harriet is dub name of Hisui and in the shout box I expressed my disappointment in her voice, it's a literal "forced old woman voice" she's given. Now I'm not comparing this to Hisui ibeing voiced by an actual old woman, Masako Nozwa, in the Japanese verison, while Harriet is voiced by a young woman doing an old woman's voice in the dub, because that would be unfair, rather my disappointment stems from the fact that I KNOW there are young women that can do old women voices MUCH better than whoever's voice Harriet for the English dub of this movie.
Why does this bother me so much? Well because Hisui/Harriet has the most emotional story of all, I will not spoil it (unless you've already read the movie's transcript) but I'll just say it involves crying and I have confidence in Nozawa that she nailed this moment perfectly, but I worry for the dub's voice actress performance of that scene, if the voice continues to be bad as it was in the dub trailer for the 21st movie. Hopefully I'm wrong and she does a good job as well. Because, to me, even whether the music during that scene is, excellent, good or just okay, that doesn't matter, it's the delivery of the voice performance that's the most important, because it can greatly effect the tone and emotions of the scenario.
