the twerps are o a call with Clemont and he's so excited to tel them about his new invention. It's a Roomba in the shape of a large Gothitelle, it goes haywire and tries to vacuum his hair and explodes.
That's such a lazy episode title I won't even attempt to make a pun out of it.
Anyway the twerps are easing on down the road, Ash salivating at the opportunity to finally challenge and win his next badge, as Serena has to remind her man that he has absolutely no plan for fighting Clemont.
Well, that's usually how Ash goes into battle, but in this case Clemont knows Ash's Pokémon pretty well, and Ash decides to plan for the ones he knows of Clemont's, with Bonnie adding in that he also has a Magneton and Heliolisk he might throw into the fray.
Before the Grey Matter in Ash's head sizzles too hard, who should show up from out of nowhere unexpectedly from behind a tree but Smoke... er, Tierno. It's Tierno. Sorry, wrong game franchise. And he's SUPER excited to see Serena and starts hitting on his Best Friend's Girlfriend behind her back, he's excited, in the pants region, commenting on her new hair, and different clothes, which is weird since most normal girls don't wear the same clothes everyday, anyway.
You know, maybe there's a reason Serena is collecting groupies like Beedrill to honey.
He then realizes that Clemont has abandoned the group for greener pastures, apparently he didn't know he was the Lumiose City Gym leader, because he only remembers challenging a robot, Clembot, and beating it for a Badge.
Ash then decides that since Tierno beat the Lumiose Gym, he should battle Tierno, and it'll be just like beating the Lumiose Gym.
Then again, Ash just likes to battle.
Ash shows off Sliggoo, but not not the rest of his Pokémon for some reason.
And Tierno shows Ash his Pokémon since the last time they met, Wartortle - evolved from Squirtle, Politoad, Hitmontop, and Ludicolo.
They then start doing... things.
Tierno refers to them as his "dance crew" and remembers that Ash was going to use his rhythymic battle style for his Shalour Gym fight, for whatever reason.
Tierno then decides he wants a Double Battle, it'll be between Wartortle, and his other Pokémon that he didn't feel like talking about previously for whatever reason...Raichu. who against Nintendo Marketing Concern's wishes Bonnie calls "cute".
Before their battle can begin however, a robot rolls out of nowhere, and grabs Pikachu and a video screen reveals... It's Team Rocket!
This robot can apparently detect the electricity in Pikachu's body and can automatically catch it. It drops a cage and prepares to run off with it, but Ash knock's it on it's equivalent of a robot's ass and knocks Pikachu loose.
The robot immediately gets back up and instead grabs Raichu and Wartortle who attempted to defend it.
Ash sends Pikachu and Sliggoo to defend it in a weak attempt that sees it knocking Pikachu back on it's equivalent of a rat's ass, and catches Sliggoo as well. This must trigger horrible PTSD for Tierno of the last time he hung out with Ash and almost lost his Squirtle to Team Rocket.
The robot speeds away as Raichu attempts to shock the cage open, not being familiar with Team Rocket's craftsmanship and shocks Wartortle and Sliggoo and has to feebly apologize.
Fletchinder comes back having nothing to report and Serena decides it's time to split up. Tierno - despite having the hots for Serena earlier - must realize that he's at least 4th in line in Serena's harem and decides to split up with Bonnie, leaving her with her number one pick. They decide that if they find them they'll meet back at that spot, despite the fact the other team won't know they found them, and won't know to meet back there.
The robot shows up to Team Rocket who are just kicking back, until James realizes that it nabbed a Raichu instead. They know it's not "their" Pikachu, especially after it's Thunderbolt is apparently "weaker" then Pikachu's because fuck Raichu, says Nintendo.
Jesse gets in Wartortle's face and gets sprayed in the face messing up her hair,and now he done fucked up. She gets SOOOO pissed she sends out Pumpkaboo to blast the cage with Shadowball, and sending the cage rolling along, sending the Pokémon inside hurling to their deaths.
Meanwhile, Tierno and Bonnie are stalking along the grass as the cage rolls off the 15 foot drop behind them. They reconvene, but quickly realize that the machine can pick up on Pikachu (and Raichu's) electricity, and figure they must be sending it back out.
Bonnie then remembers the only thing Dedenne's good for is sensing Pikachu's electricity, since apparently even Raichu can't do that and follow after it.
We rejoin Ash and Serena having no luck until Pikachu starts sensing Dedenne's electricity. Then the robot finds them, but Pikachu destroys it with Iron Tail. Such a marvel of human ingenuity, dead.
Anyway, Bonnie and Tierno, who will probably die alone are trapped behind a giant rock, that's so strong the Sliggoo's Dragonbreath can't break through. Apparently boulders are immune to Dragon-type moves. It did crack through a bit however, so instead of doing the thing that obviously worked to some degree Sliggoo decides to throw it's mucilaginous glob of a body into the rock multiple times.
Tierno then remembers he has Pokémon of his own... and they all bash their body's though, instead of using some sort of attack (like Dragonbreath) to break through the boulder.
Meanwhile, apparently the robot, or "rbit" depending on your accent, returned from the dead, and is chasing Pikachu again, and manages to grab it as Team Rocket was... pretty close by.
Ash informs them that that's his Pikachu.
"Prepare for trouble, I disagree!"
"And make it double, it works for me!
"To protect the world from devastation!"
"To unite all people within our nation!"
"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"
"To extend out reach to the stars above!"
"Jesse!"
"And James!"
"Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light!"
"Surrender now or prepare for a state of the art fight!"
"Meowth, that's right!"
"WOOOOBBBBUUUFET!"
Team Rocket then says some really weird thing about Please and Thank You, and that they have Pikachu and aren't afraid to use it.

Anyway Team Rocket prepares to cage Pikachu, but Sliggoo rushes at it again, pissing off Jesse who sends in Pumpkaboo with another Shadowball. Pikachu and Sliggoo dodge the Shadowball, and explode the robot surprisingly causing a big explosion that spreads and lights the trees on fire.
Unfortunately no one in the immediate vicinity has a Water-type Pokémon, like... I don't know, a Wartortle or a Frogadier - with Water-type moves that could put out the fire.
Also, as I was making this joke I just realized that Tierno has a shirt with a Vanillite on it, but doesn't have a Vanillite, and doesn't seem interested in catching one. That's not important to this situation.
Sliggoo remembers it's days in the war, and all the Pokémon who apparently died in fires caused by a Seviper, such as Lotad and Wooper, who were powerless to stop this fire, sense they don't have access to some sort of liquid that is known for putting out fires.
This memory upsets Sliggoo so much that he summons Shenron without collecting the 7 Dragonballs and evolves, while also causing a huge rainstorm.
Sliggoo is now Goodra, and just looks ridiculous.
Jesse's hair gets messed up again, as James mentions that Goodra would be a great catch, and in her anger she sends out Pumpkaboo again... apparently she recalled it, and also her hair's back to normal.
What's going on?
Anyway, before we can figure out what's going on, Team Rocket is sent blasting off again.
Also, according to Tierno Goodra learned Dragon Pulse, and Ash insists that Goodra will never lose to anyone again. EVER.
My, what a bold prediction.

The battle starts with no preamble, as Ash sends in Pikachu with Quick Attack, and Tierno has Wartortle use the recoil to spin, like a Koopa Troopa, who then comes after Pikachu, but he dodges. Tierno then sics Raichu on Goodra, who Ash has hold with Bide, Raichu then hits it with two Focus Blasts, the second of which Pikachu tries to block, but gets knocked on it's ass by Wartortle.
Goodra then unleashes it's Bide, and lands right on Wartortle and Raichu after an attempt to block with Hydro Pump.
Raichu and Wartortle are still standing, but barely, as Tierno says it's time to use rhythm, sending in Wartortle with a Skull Bash. Goodra catches Wartortle, however and Tierno is forced to try another Focus Blast from Raichu, but before it can Raichu gets it's move blocked by Electro Ball, because Pikachu < Raichu, amirite?
Tierno's Pokémon then start doing Mortal Kombat Dizzy dancing, and Goodra and Pikachu finish them with their respective moves, winning the battle for Ash.
The twerps say their goodbyes to Tierno, as Serena tells him to say hi to Shauna and Trevor, who I completely forgot existed, and then they look over the city scape of Lumiose, as Ash prepares for his Lumiose Gym Battle with the Lumiose Gym leader.
Whoever he may be...
