Full summary and voice cast for SM052-SM051 screenshots: filb.de/anime/sm/051 and SM052 preview video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQqspaQg914Another episode with spot on music choices, in fact I think this episode had nothing but anime versions of Sun and Moon game music playing in it. Bonus points go to "Steely Lilie!" when Lilie is attempting to do the trial and "Battle! (Totem Pokémon)" during the fight against Totem Jyararanga. Oh and let me just praise that correctly placed "Battle! (Gladio)" once again. Really, the SM anime is just killing it with these perfectly placed tracks. There's also a lot of scenes without any music playing, which suited the episode as it was mostly a very focused and serious one. I just love all of it.
The plot continues to be great. Lilie is more determined and now in her Z-Powered form. Also gotta love ice skating Gladio and without any skates. Next week; the Kapu's do a performance for Hoshigumo to evolve into Solgaleo and Satoshi obtains the Z-Power Ring along with the Solganium Z. P.S; Very fucked up putting a spike trap in the trial section, so anyone who pushes the Ashimari statue and doesn't move quickly is instantly killed.

So here's something I have been wanting to talk about for a while: I love that the voice actors are having fun in the Sun & Moon next episode previews.
Instead of a character describing what's going to happen next (like in previous series) there are instead hilarious conversations between the characters.
Example: in the preview for SM052 Lilie, Mao and Satoshi attempt to say the Guardian Deities' names fast. The former two succeed, but the latter fails.
I know, it sounds childish. But who cares? It's cute, funny and brings in more life to them, I now look forward to more than just the scenes that appear.

Full summary and voice cast for SM053, plus many more upcoming details for the battle in Ultra Space: SM052 screenshots: filb.de/anime/sm/052 and SM053 preview video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=QXDPS2XryMkTHEY PLAYED THE SAME SONG FROM THE GAMES WHEN NEBBY (COSMOEM) EVOLVES INTO SOLGALEO!!!! THEY FUCKING PLAYED THE RIGHT SONG!!!! With these correctly matching music choices this series has been having lately, I was hoping it would be the same for this and I was so glad when it was. Also they made the Legendary Solgaleo come of as really adorable and did the scene of Lilie hugging Solgaleo-Hoshigumo from the SM end game credits: We see in the upcoming episodes, Lusamine doesn't have a Kiteruguma (and we all know why) and she has six Pokémon instead of five like in the games.

The anime has been on a tear lately. Every episode in this arc has been amazing. I especially love how they're not using the narrator for these episodes, and are just having Lillie do the recap of the previous episode. The last episode that the narrator has been in was episode 44. I love how they gave Ash the Solgalium Z crystal, had him try and fail to get it onto the ring, before upgrading the Z ring to the Z power ring. It was also a nice touch having Tapu Koko teach Ash the pose to open the ultra hole.

I have a theory the reason why we got Hoshigumo-Solgaleo early in the show is so it can be used for an upcoming plot with Necrozma.
You know, the whole Necrozma fusing itself with Solgaleo to become Dusk Mane Necrozma or Lunala to become Dawn Wings Necrozma.
I love the anime's instrumental (there's no opera singing) rendition of "Mother and Daughter" in fact, I swear they added extra notes to it.
Really though, it's amazing how much anime adaptations of Sun & Moon music we've been getting. We need a soundtrack release of these.

Well, I'm not so sure about that Don. Namely the upcoming episode titles seems to suggest that Solgaleo's likely to leave and we'll never see him again up until like 20 to 30 episodes later when Necrozma becomes relevant. And even then I suspect that'll be saved for next year's movie. Things likely going back to the way they were prior to Sun & Moon's endgame implemented in the anime this time around, since everyone that isn't Ash, Lillie, Pikachu, and the now Solgaleo's been out of focus extremely hard.
Inasmuch as I'd like for Nebby to be one of Ash's official Pokemon... given that we've not had a capture or an evolution sans the plot-relevant Cosmog (and Silvally's mask breaking isn't an evolution here!) for almost long now... well, that's just isn't going to happen. Plus the Pokemon's like Ridley when it comes to smash-bros: TOO BIG! Oh and too powerful too. I've no idea who's gonna fill the rest of his roster though, although something's that able to match his friendly rival Gladion's Silvally who's at this point far beyond anything he can throw at it other than the legendary-slayer Pikachu.
The SM anime's been extra special and wonderful and I hope it stays that way, but hey, given the surprises the show's been giving, I will be shocked and more than happy to be proven wrong if Nebby decides to stick around after the seemingly "I will leave you all never see you all again! Especially you mom and dad!" episode. Call me ms. pessimist lol, I've a feeling that old formula habits here are gonna die hard. I do want the anime to prove me wrong though more than anyone can imagine though.
Oh yes I've noticed that too! There was also an adaption of the Ultra Recon Squad from the newest game in that episode too, did anyone else catch it?

I know it's going to leave, I posted the title basically saying that. What I mean is it's possible it will return for a plot that features Necrozma.
As in the writers were setting this up, hence why we got the Hoshigumo and the battle in Ultra Space arc this early in the Sun & Moon anime.
Heck, already getting their theme in the anime (that's a slow version of it) we got a hint at the Ultra Reconnaissance Team appearing in here.

Yep thing's will go more Ultra-versions after this arc I bet; although I can't help but consider the possibility that Necrozma gets demoted to movie. Sorry, I still can't help but be a tad pessimistic. Though if Solgaleo sees Ash and Lille as dad and mom respectively...well, "THEY GROW UP SO FAST!" Haha, lol. Yeah, this endgame this somewhat early in the SM anime was also likely to avoid the rushed Team Flare arc in the final act where they were pumping episode after episode trying to make deadlines with SM around the corner. Now they got a much wider margin to work with than feel rushed.
I do wonder what will be next year's thing however. Something Sinnoh related I wager.

Probably another Mystery Dungeon or something of that sort.

Teaser trailer for the 21st Pokémon movie. Beautiful art and animation, also.... Lugia's song?
This movie continues from "I Choose You" and it's a collaboration between OLM and WIT Studio (hence this unique art and animation).

Two things about this teaser irk me:
1. The fact that it'll be a sequel to M20. Unless this ends up being like a "The Rescuers Down Under" kind of situation (the sequel far outclassing the original), I don't see myself enjoying this one much.
2. The JP Lugia's Song remix. Granted, as great as it is, the 4kids Lugia Song blows it out of the water. But still, with how bad Shinji Miyazaki is at remixing, I'm sad to see that one be next to be sullied. And frankly, that does kill my hopes for the JP soundtrack.
Apart from the animation, this teaser failed to impress.
