The Pocket Monsters series will be celebrating its 1000 episode on 9th November: www.pocketmonsters.net/main/news/3082Of course this only goes for the Japanese broadcast, the dub's 1000 episode is much later due to the banned episodes it has. The episode itself is important as it focuses on Lilie getting her memories restored on her phobia towards touching Pokémon.

I wonder what they're going to do to celebrate it?
Maybe they might do a clip show of all the past series or something, or we might get previews of upcoming episodes.

Full summary and voice cast for SM047-SM046 screenshots: filb.de/anime/sm/046 and SM047 preview: www.youtube.com/watch?v=QIH-kUl4M_k So Lilie has taken over the narrator's job..... Sauboh knows the reason for Lilie's phobia of touching Pokémon and doesn't want her memories to get triggered, it has something to do with Type: Null. Also it's interesting that Gladio has already named Type: Null Silvady before it has broken its mask. Guess he doesn't want to associate it with that name.

New summary for SM049: Full summary and voice cast for SM048- SM047 screenshots: filb.de/anime/sm/047 and SM048 preview video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ys-fw0Iv4AoSo we find out through Gladio that when Lilie was younger she was attacked by an Uturoid. Also the style that flashback was done in is amazing. What triggers Satoshi's Lugarugan to go into its aggressive state was its fur getting covered in mud, turns out it's very touchy on its appearance. Really love the anime adaptations of one of Lusamine's themes, Gladio's theme (still hoping for the battle one) and the Ultra Beast battle theme. So we're going to see Kukui's and Burnet's relationship develop in the anime. Okay, this is officially one the best changes the writers have made.

Can we just congratulate the Pokémon anime for showcasing Type: Null in the proper way? They are not making Null and Silvady two different Pokémon. This is made clear when anime Gladio has named it Silvady BEFORE it has destroyed its control mask. It's not going to evolve, it's going to set itself free. And this makes more sense, because, as you will read in its game description, Silvady is just Type: Null without the mask. It is the exact same Pokémon. The Sun and Moon anime has just been so great, the way they balance the humour and seriousness is perfect. It might end up being my favourite series. I don't need to explain the humour part, meanwhile when it tackles the serious issues, well, just look at Mooland passing away and Lilie's traumatic past. I love the orchestrated version of Gladio's theme and the fact it plays in this scene is just perfect. Hopefully TPCI will realize this and keep it for the dub. Let us all give it up for Gladio, the very first character in the anime to question the same thing that we have been wondering about Satoshi for 20+ years.

You know, I was about to comment on that today after I got a better translation of the text but you beat me to the punch! Hehe! It would seem that Gladion's the only person in the entire Pokemon anime verse that noticed things are just abnormal involving Ash, and he's only seen him once before. Even if one doesn't consider the films to be canon, abnormal Pokemon seem to flock to him and where he goes, things just explode around him.
Situations like this remind me of a certain quote from Knights of the Old Republic; "You're a necrolyte padawan tasked with stopping the Dark Lord of the Sith! Why?! That's not normal!"
But I honestly have to hand to the developers and writers for implementing this in a darker light while having the Xerneas/Yveltal Awakening theme from the XY games play. Granted such special traits for protagonists is nothing new, however, it depends on how well it's executed. Like with Ash-Greninja after it was losing it's mysticism and became just another gimmick just had random unexplained powers pulled out of the rear that was never, ever, exposed upon. But here? It's like he had unknowingly created his own evolution in his Rockruff, or at the very least, just somehow came across the right Rockruff at the most perfect timing that was gonna evolve into something different. (Palpatine: It is your destiny!) In the age of deconstructions of cliche's we all grew up with, I'd like to see more of this aspect explored upon as this Sun and Moon plot thickens. In addition to everything else of course as this anime season just continues to surprise me and fill me with suspense; what we thought would be predictable has turned out to be completely otherwise. (For starters, generation 7's been the first to actually treat it's legendary Pokemon of the region as actual gods outright rather than superpowered kaiju for the most part.)
On a side note, I can understand why the Pokemon had the name Silvady prior to its mask shattering. Not to mention calling a Pokemon Type:Null during battle would be incredibly awkward and be unable to take seriously for us the audience. It's likely only two separate Pokemon in the games for gameplay and coding differences, as a permanent 'form' change for the same Pokemon would be awfully hard to implement and actually make it stay that way. Although that lets Null take advantage of Evolite when it technically shouldn't. Though considering the Pokemon was an attempt to create a man-made Arceus with data gathered from Sinnoh, perhaps we'll have our first mention of Arceus in the anime at some point proper? Well, excluding the films of course. That battle was pretty great and fun too; even with the heavy Darth Vader mask locked on its face, that thing moved fast!

Full summary and voice cast for SM049 and the 1000th episode of the Pokémon anime overall (for Japan)-SM048 screenshots: filb.de/anime/sm/048 and SM049 preview video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=SMhe5Au92MoThe way this episode started off so innocent and happy with the sleepover, but ended all dark and depressing with Lilie's fear returning was done well. Seeing Silvady triggered a traumatizing memory in Lilie, causing her phobia of touching Pokémon to return to the point that she outright rejects Shiron.

I'm finally up to date with Sun & Moon, so I can finally discuss the newest episodes on here! I really liked how they started to move forwards Lillie, Gladio and Lusamine's plot. Obviously, anyone that has played the game knows that there is more to them than was initially let on - so I was really hoping for some progression in their storyline. It's nice how, so far, most of their development has been done by the side-characters themselves - watching the way that they communicate with each other, and not have everything going via Ash. Obviously Ash is the protagonist, but they are good enough characters to carry a storyline mostly on their own. I irl lolled at Kaki accidentally doing his Z-Move in the lab - and the fact that apparently Kukui had to sleep on the sofa in his his own house. Does he do that every night? Does Ash have the only bed? I also laughed at the fact that the other Pokémon just carry Denjimushi around under-arm like a little cardboard box. I live for silly details like that. As for the end of the episode; I kinda guessed that there would be some sort of relapse for Lillie when she started to remember, but I didn't expect them to do it so quickly after we, the viewers, found out her past. Poor Shiron! It must have been so confused!

Wow. While the SM anime abandoning the traditional formula used for the last 20 years is shocking, it's like every new thing here continues to surprise me even more as it's even deviating from the plotline of the games. Something the Ultra games will either do or expand beyond; Lusamine's final battle being a mid-way boss rather than the final boss.
Like for instance child-hater not even bothering hiding his true colors this time, Silvally breaking it's mask a lot earlier than I expected, and the implications the guardian deities decide the little puffball has to go and likely daddy Solgaleo showing up to lay down the law.
While I always have and will like the Pokemon anime, not matter what silly shenanigans it pulls for people to sarcastically mock, color me impressed. Really. I do wonder when OUR BOI GUZMA shows up though!

Not just Guzma, but also Plumeri, heck the Skull Gang as a whole have barely done anything, just three members have shown up so far.
Then we got Hau (he's Hala's grandson, he has got to appear) the other Trial Captains and Island Kahunas, they all need to still appear.
It makes you wonder, now that we're getting this already, what big plot will they have for the future? I'm guessing it'll involve Necrozma.
But I'm glad it's happening this soon, because it completely shut up the "Sun and Moon anime is childish because of the art-style" group.

But I'm glad it's happening this soon, because it completely shut up the "Sun and Moon anime is childish because of the art-style" group. I'd like to hope that the general consensus has really moved away from "Sun & Moon look bad, because here's a single in-between frame that I took that looks all squishy and elasticy". I think people have really noticed the fact that the whole squishy, elastic style looks fantastic when seen at real speed. It's such a vibrant way of animating something like Pokemon. You can totally understand why people are comparing this season to things like Little Witch Academia. It has that same lively, joyous movement that has so much character. The animation and art style is honestly my favourite thing about this series. Certain little scenes have really blown me away. I mean, there was the stuff that you'd expect to be good, like the battles and stuff - but the minor details, like this - are stunning.

Full summary and voice cast for SM050- Here are the screenshot for SM049: filb.de/anime/sm/049 and the preview video for SM050: www.youtube.com/watch?v=4t6XikumMTAJust a really brilliant episode, it was so emotional. I am so happy for Lilie right now, she regained her memory and has overcome her fear. I teared up during the scene with Lilie's memory trip, her remembering that moment and when she realized she could touch Pokémon again. And congratulations on playing Lilie's themes in her scenes and Gladio's theme when Silvady broke its mask, perfect music choices right there. Another episode proving the Sun & Moon series isn't just trying to appeal to children, it has had plenty of mature moments for adults to enjoy too. However this does not mean it's no longer a kids show, it still is, this is simply just the writers thinking about their more grown up audience as well. But that's not say it's all they will enjoy, because I know there are kids who enjoy the serious moments and adults who enjoy the comedic moments. Oh god yes, those fucking idiots trying to prove that the art/anaimaiton is bad by capturing an IN MOITON SHOT pissed me off so much. Currently waiting for certain people to admit they were wrong and that they now feel stupid for judging the SM Anime in the way they did.
