I won't be seeing the new episode until it gets dubbed, but there is something about it that I need to weigh in on: although this thankfully isn't a widespread complaint, I've seen people get on the show's case for having Olivia be in an outfit that's different and less revealing than what she wore in the game. To that I have to ask (and I'm totally going to sound like a feminist when I ask this): what's the appeal of scantily-clad women???

Some folks jut like that sexual drive. ...Actually I don't know what people are talking about, they didn't change her outfit, they just gave her a coat.
Oh and made her flat-chested. Yeah, was there any complaints at that? But it's probably all due to her personality and habit of tripping and falling.
It's possible the writers felt Olivia with sex-appeal wouldn't suit the cute and funny character they made her in the anime and so toned that down.

A special music video for the 20th movie, featuring the ending song "The Oración Theme: Let's Walk Together" by Asuca Hayashi. This has to be one of the most beautiful and relaxing songs I have heard in the Pokémon anime. You need to view it for yourself. Asuca Hayashi, the woman who sung Chiisaki Mono, doing a lyrical version of "Oración" from the 10th movie? No wonder it's so amazing. Hayashi is a singer with a lovely voice and "Oración" has a lovely theme. Read more on here: www.pocketmonsters.net/main/news/2944

You know, I think I've finally noticed this one trend...well actually I noticed it a few times before hand though I'd think Ash getting Pants'd in front of Mallow by an overly happy Stoutland what was finally confirmed in my eyes is this series' return to having more... dodgy radar-bypassing stuff.
Maybe probably as its owing back to the more, fun and relaxed feel. Then there's those jojo's bizzare adventure-esque faces to account for.
Yeah, I suppose my whole reasoning for mentioning that was being used to the lack-of in the XY and XY&Z sessions, barring the exceptions of Playboy Bunny Serena and the image of an Arbok coiling around a pleased Clemont. Those two things are the only ones I can seem to think that'd be worthy of chuckling like Beavis and Butthead. Given those 3 years of the Mega Evolution generation, I find myself surprised a the return of more of this stuff. Heck. Being a life-long Pokemon fan I think I was even in danger of forgetting about Team Rocket actually being villains. Or even relevant to the show!
(Though holy moly, that preview for the upcoming episode this Thursday. I didn't think I'd live to see the day Pokemon had a brief recreation of the iconic Titanic scene!)
So! Back to the episode itself, seems like Lana's the first twerp to get the new power-up soon. I suppose they'll also follow that pattern in order of the games, with Kiawe already having one so Mallow's like next in the list in about, ten to twenty episodes I wager. But no Ash! No other electric types! You're under contract to only have Pikachu!

Next Thursday will be a Pokémon Movie Pre-Première Special (none of you are interested, but I'm posting the summary anyway)- SM033 screenshots: filb.de/anime/sm/033 and SM034 preview video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=c5Zh-gvUAbk ...THAT HIKER IS THERE! Suiren got her Water Z Crystal and Ashimari learned Aqua Jet. I love that anime Suiren has a habit of telling outrages jokes just like game Suiren.
Turns out the 20th movie soundtrack not only has remakes of Kanto music, but ones from other series too. A great thing to do for a 20th Anniversary movie. And no Ryu, remaking songs is not lazy, because they are being remade on instruments and that means lots of hard work goes into getting them perfected. Also here's the plot of the movie: www.pokebeach.com/2017/07/pokemon-i-choose-you-movie-20-summary DON'T CLICK IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE SPOILED!

Wow, I'd like call this episode, the cartoon-ish episode that keeps on giving! There are just so many highlights I could probably go on and on, well here's to list a few!
I don't think I laughed any harder than Team Rocket fishing out the all-mighty Bewear out of the lake, who then transformed into a speed boat and sailed off into the sky. Here I thought the Titanic homage from the preview and the episode itself was already icing on the cake, but that was just pure gold!
Ashes to ashes. Then on the third day/second/frame, he rose again! Ash is Ho-oh confirmed! Heh, I kid, I kid. Later on, the old man goes on about the rarity of Feebas and Lana just returns with one; if only we had such luck in the games. And lastly, I think it's achieved full running gag status now that every time Ash goes fishing, he's gonna get humiliated by a Magikarp.
Though onto the episode more, I think that was some music from that Manaphy movie when Poppilo got his/her focus and jumped into the water. Feels like a long time since I last heard pre-generation 5 music in the episodes themselves. Maybe it's just me. Anyway, I say this episode did a good job on trying to maintain the terror feeling the game had with the school-form Wishiwashi, mostly it being a giant creature that wants to eat you and the Totem Pokemon itself calling for aid. Lana's really gotta have some sweet upper-abs and arm muscle to reel in that fish.
Lesson of the Story: Who knew fishing could be so dramatic? Regardless, this was one heck of a fun and great episode!
I hope the movie itself does alright, in terms of reception and box revenue. Hopefully enough to get past this bad reputation the Pokemon films have of late, as the last 4 have been fairly mediocre and average at best, as I think the last two did worse than Pokemon Heroes and THAT had the excuse of limited release. Maybe something that doesn't have to follow anime continuity might be what it needs.

And no Ryu, remaking songs is not lazy, because they are being remade on instruments and that means lots of hard work goes into getting them perfected. That doesn't guarantee that they'll be good. Look at the JP Hoopa soundtrack: it's like Shinji Miyazaki took his best works and made them terrible. That soundtrack might as well be called "The Best of Shinji Miyazaki: The Uninspired and Awful Edition." I hope M20's JP soundtrack doesn't fall into the same trap. I hope it takes cues from the soundtrack of the 2017 "Beauty and the Beast"; now there's a soundtrack with effort put into its remixes. But then again, Alan Menken is in a league above all Pokemon musicians. I read that article (and the 4chan anon postings; the Pokemon cartoon and its corresponding movies aren't even eligible to be on my no-spoilers list). I'll have to see the movie to know for sure, but except for some egregious parts, it looks like it'll be neat.

Speaking of which, the 20th movie is the first Pokémon movie to cause a huge split between the fandom's opinions.
To be honest, from what I've read, I'm not surprised. This movie takes a turn that's unlike any other movie before it.
Of course I'm unable to judge it for myself as I have yet to see it, but it sounds so unique that I desperately want to.

Huh. Well that's sorta to be expected at this point, though considering the overall different approach to this film than the last dozen, whatever happens outta be big. So whatever, please no spoilers juuuuuuuuuuuust yet!
I guess we'll only see once it hits theaters for ourselves, and not living in Japan, guess we'll all have to pirate (YARRRR!) it somehow!
