Professor Kukui announces that he wants everyone to trade Partner Pokémon as part of class. It's decided that Lilie will spend time with Pikachu, but she's unable to touch it.

As part of class, everyone is going to trade Partner Pokémon so that they can get well acquainted with Pokémon other than their partners. Pikachu is going to be taken care of by Lilie, but Lilie can't touch it.

Satoshi and the others go to the Pokémon School, just like any other day. But when they get there, Professor Kukui gives them the homework assignment of trading Partner Pokémon with one another, so that they can get well acquainted with Pokémon other than their partners. It's decided that Satoshi's Pikachu will spend time at Lilie's house, but Lilie has still not become able to touch Pikachu.

Satoshi has ended up having to go to Akala Island for class. He goes there together with Akala island's Island Queen Lychee, who's accompanied by her Lugarugan, but on the way they run into trouble.

It's been decided that Satoshi and the others are going to Akala Island for class. En route, the group meets a woman accompanied by a Lugarugan. She is Lychee, the "Island Queen" of the island they'll be visiting. Satoshi decides to go with her to her destination, but on the way they run into trouble.

Satoshi and the others have to go treasure hunting as part of their Akala Island classes. They each choose a Mooland Ride Pokémon as their partner, then immediately set off. But during the treasure hunt, the Mooland that Suiren chose doesn't really want to listen to her all that much, so it turns into an uphill battle for her.

The students at the Pokémon School are greatly enjoying their Akala Island classes. Satoshi goes with Suiren to a lake where it's said you can fish the "Lord of the Lake". Suiren gets a big bite the instant she throws out the line, but because it's so big, it's not very easy to reel in.

Summary:
Satoshi and the others at the Pokémon School are told by Professor Kukui that they're going to trade Partner Pokémon. He says this is for the purpose of them also getting well acquainted with Pokémon other that their partners. Lilie gets paired with Pikachu, but she's unable to touch it. Since she might become able to touch it if she battles together with it, she challenges James to a battle, but... will it work out all right?!
