In the end, I'll still adhere to this saga's dub. But its original JP version has been doing just fine so far. I hope it keeps up. Murphy's Law struck again... With TR's return to the saga, the JP version in the form I hated it in has returned. It was doing great until now. I need its dub more than ever now. I will admit, though, I found this funny, if only out of a legitimate desire to see JP Meowth dead even for a moment.

So I should have talked about this back when that episode aired, but we know a bit about why Lilie is too nervous to touch Pokémon, but only a bit: She actually forgot what caused it and can only recall it was after she came back from a trip with her mother (before Lilie was able to hold Pokémon). I will admit, though, I found this funny, if only out of a legitimate desire to see JP Meowth dead even for a moment. Seriously though, stop. Wishing the death of a fictional character because you hate their voice is really sad. I tried my best to tolerate it, but I can't anymore. Also you hated the episode just because you find Nyasu's voice annoying? Nothing to do with the plot or even the great music, just that... Yeah sure, why not.

Also you hated the episode just because you find [Meowth's Japanese] voice annoying? Nothing to do with the plot or even the great music, just that... Yeah sure, why not. The other reason is that TR (who,as you know, I consider the worst aspect of the JP version) seems to have made a full return to the saga after I had such a nice long break from them.

They appeared in episode 3, their full returns was there. They even got a new gag with Bewear running in, grabbing them and taking the TRio back to its cave.
How could you barely notice them up until the 12th episode and just because it was a Team Rocket focused episode? They were noticeable since they arrived.

I barely noticed them because they were hardly doing anything at all. Oh, and I should also mention that JP Bewear has an unbearable voice, too (pun 100% intended).

Bewear's voice in the English dub is no different from Kiteruguma's voice in the Japanese version, because it's the only voice that works for it.
You're fooled by its cuteness with its regular voice, suddenly it lets out an ear-splitting screech and you're running for your life. That's the point.
Anyway what you said has nothing to do with the episode, which was good. You don't even give your thoughts on Team Rocket's new Pokémon.

Bewear isn't as ear-obliterating in English as it is in Japanese.
James' new capture is the only reason I even bothered seeing this one. Mareanie seems like a nice addition to the team. Still didn't redeem this episode, which, apart from being made insufferable by TR (as well as that joyful music that went over their victory; I mean, my God, did the show actually just try to get us to actually root for the enemy?? That's a new low.), was boring. Yes, a capture happened, but hardly anything else did.

Wow... you really don't know what you're talking about. I can't believe someone is actually unaware of the fact that Team Rocket have a huge fanbase.
People LOVE them because they are unlike most villains. They are not pure evil, they show kindness and even help Ash and his friends out occasionally.
And you have the nerve to go; "Why are TR being put in a good light?". Where have you been these past series that you don't know the answer to that?
Also do you want to know why they played victory music after Team Rocket defeated Ash in SM012? Well let me give you a hint...... Dragon Ball Z Abridged.
Still don't get it? Okay, let me explain: DBZA is a parody series of the Dragon Ball Z anime, it's all created for fun and to make people laugh, that's the point.
Now look at the bold word... that's right. The victory music playing was simply parodying the fact it's the same music that plays whenever Ash wins a battle.

I know TR has a huge fandom (I'd understand for their dub selves, but their JP selves having fans is a mystery to me, even though I won't contest people's right to like them). I'd root for TR when they're not doing something bad, but look at what they were doing here: battling Ash with intention to steal his Pikachu. Basically, the kind of thing they ought not succeed at.
Let me give you a related example: Sylvester J. Pussycat. He's a perfectly likable guy, but we don't want him to succeed at eating Tweety Bird. Same with TR; we'd like them to succeed at some things, but not at stealing Pokemon.
Also, don't try to play that "you only hate TR because you watch the dub" card. I think their JP selves are infinitely worse than their dub selves (who aren't perfect and have some problems themselves, but really, would you rather have your favorite ice cream with a topping you can only tolerate or with a topping you're allergic to?).

Oh just fuck off with that "I don't understand why they would have a fanbase from the Japanese version" bullshit, it's one of the dumbest things I've heard.
The Pokémon franchise was produced in Japan, therefore it has fans in Japan and those fans who are fans of the TRio all grew up with the Japanese version.
And there are also Team Rocket fans outside of Japan who prefer the original Rockets because they are aware of the stupid line changes from 4kids and TPCI.
Especially TPCI. I mean at least 4kids' line changes were mostly funny, but oh god, TPCI, so much cringe... I dreaded every time the TRio appeared n that dub.
And that is not the only time TPCI ruined Team Rocket; during the Diamond and Pearl series they made Jessie into this huge mega bitch, it wasn't funny at all.
This pissed off a lot of TR fans who watch the original version of the DP series as Musashi never said any line that contained threatening to hit Nyasu or Kojiro.
Actually there's also 4kids dub with James and how worse Eric Stuart's voice acting got during the Advance Generation series; view "A Poached Ego" for proof.
Stuart was TERRIBLE as James during the emotional moments, there was no comparing to the amazing voice work Shin-ichiro Miki did for Kojiro in that episode.
Also Shin-iciro is the best of the Rocket Gang voice actors and I respect him a lot more after that amazing voice work he done for Zamasu in Dragon Ball Super.

Also I think he knew that his time as James was coming to an end because of the change from 4kids to TPCI, so he probably didn't care how he acted from then on out. Also I didn't know that Shin-iciro played Zamasu. He did that voice very well. And I love the echoing effect they used after Zamasu merged with Goku Black.

Sometimes I get the feeling you really are trying to make me like the show in Japanese. To me, dubbed TR is best TR. They're much better and funnier characters dubbed, they're better acted dubbed, and they're better written dubbed. End of story.

No I am not, I don't care that you prefer the dub version of the Pokémon anime over the original, Japanese, version, my post doesn't even give a hint of that. I'm just correcting you on your stupid post wondering why people like the original Rockets, it's like you're bothered by people watching Pokémon in Japanese. There are also Team Rocket fans who watch both the Japanese and dub version of the Pokémon anime and to them the TRio are always the same characters. Eric Stuart may not have made a great voice actor for James, but he made a great voice actor for Seto Kaiba. Yeah, Eric Stuart can do serious voices good, in fact he actually could preform emotional scenes for James well back in Kanto. So this was such a huge downfall. That's probably it, Stuart did become a whiny baby when TPCI took over dubbing of Pokémon (even saying something which made me lose all respect for him). Yep, also when Merged Zamasu started going crazy, that mad screaming Shin-iciro preformed for him was amazing. He is now one of my favourite voice actors.

New summaries and a new title (there's a break on 16th February): SM015: Scratchmark Hill, Iwanko and Lugarugan!!SM012 was a great episode, really funny (especially when Hidoide fell in love with Kojiro; how anyone is unable to get a kick out of that, I don't understand) and I'm sure it made a lot of Rocket Gang fans happy to see them finally defeat Satoshi. In case you've been living in a cave or something, you should know there are people who prefer the Rockets over Satoshi, so this was great for them, because I doubt they would have something like this again. Screw those people who complained at it, this is most likely going to be a single time thing so let Rocket Gang fans bask over the fact their favourite trio finally got a win.
