Last Fri, I went to Taco Bell and got a Bacon Club Chalupa. I think I only tasted bacon on the first bite; but it was good nonetheless. This is a limited-time item. I guess it was around a while back and discontinued. The strange thing is I didn't originally see any tv commercials for this. I saw it first on an online ad, like in Yahoo mail or something. That is a first for me. I think I saw it advertised next on a billboard. Then finally I saw an ad on tv for it, but I think I've only seen that twice, at the most.

The bottle of booze I finished last night was Jim Beam's Kentucky Fire whiskey. This is another whiskey with the cinnamon. I can't remember what my initial thoughts were, so I'll just give my thoughts of last night. While there was a lot of burn when I held it my mouth, I can't ascertain the cinnamon to whiskey ratio. The cinnamon taste wasn't that strong, but there wasn't anything else their though.
I should be opening something else tonight.

Today I visited the two pawn shops on the same road.
At the first one, there were 2 flutes in a glass case. Besides the assortment of Casiahas, there were a few controller keyboards. The ENGL amp head was still there, as was the Gibson speaker cabinet. They wanted $1099 for the Gibson. That is waaaaay too much. I could get a decent Marshall for less. In the guitar dept, the BC Rich was still there. Right next to it was either another BC Rich or one of those stupid Washburn Paul Stanley guitars. Speaking of Washburn, there were 2 X Series superstrats. They both were 24f, hss, and had whammy bars. I think there was a $50 price difference. There was also an Ibanez RX strat for $49. After a quick Google, that might be the going price. Before I left, something else caught my eye. It was apparently a DJ setup(mixer, turntable(s), etc). It had 2 rack units of interest. A Digitech S100 and a Yamaha reverb unit(possibly a REV100). I don't know if they were selling everything together or in pieces.
At the second place, there were a few Casiahas and 1 controller kb. That customized Marshall amp was still there. There was also a Marshall Valvestae VS15R combo for $69. I'll have do some research on that. There was also a Fender tweed amp for $449. I couldn't see what model it was, put the price sticker said "Deluxe". There was one Squire there. It had no "made in...." sticker, but the serial # started with CAE. It looks like it might be Chinese, and originally part of a starter pack. There were a buttload of other strat copies. There were also 3 interesting guitars. The first was from Hofner. Some aspects of it were similar to the "violin" bass(made famous by Paul McCartney). The next was some (semi-)hollowbody from Hohner. It looked a bit like a fatter Les Paul. The third was from Epiphone. It was the size of an ES-335. The pu selector looked like it was from an LP, and was also on the upper bout. It had 2 LP knobs. Instead of having 2 other knobs, It had 2 rotary selector switches. I think one was to select a capacitor to change the tone. This guitar was apparently from Epiphone's "let's mix features from different guitars" series.

Last Wed, my car fucked up, so I took my dad's car to work. On the way home, I picked up a fried chicken breast, and 2 other things. When I got home, I was able to get my car to start, so I dropped my car off at the dealership. When I got home, my chicken was cold. When a chicken breast gets cold, it can get a bit stringy, and taste a bit bland. I decided to try using a container of Burger King's Zesty flavor. I don't remember how spicy it was, but it was good.
Today, I stopped in a grocery store intending to pick up some stuff. They didn't have a good selection, and stuff I would have bought seemed expensive. Instead, I got something from a restaurant in the same shopping center. I'll give a review on Fri.

Now for booze. The bottle I finished last night was Svedka's Strawberry Lemonade vodka. The bottle seems to have a bit of broken English. It says "lemonade flavored vodka" and "with strawberry flavor" underneath in a smaller font. As for the taste, I have one word: huwhit*. This did not taste like lemonade or strawberry. There was some alcohol burn. There was one interesting thing. When I'd drink this, I'd have some water afterward. This resulted in a citrus taste in my mouth, which wasn't disagreeable. I give this booze a big thumbs-down.
I hope to be opening something new tonight.
* This is the word I was taught by my grandma meant shit in Swedish. I don't know how it is actually spelled, so I can't look it up. When Googling, the main Swedish word for shit is skit. The word I used does mean something, since my brother said it front of a Swedish foreign exchange student, and she laughed.

Today I went to 3 places that are a bit out of the way.
The first thrift store had nothing.
The second thrift store still had the grand piano. On the lower level, near the electronics, there was a fancy Casio Celviano digital piano for $350. I don't remember the model number. I hit the on/off button, and nothing happened until the split-second I went to hit it again.
I then went to the nearby music store I mentioned on May 22. There were at least 2 Orange amps, 2 Bugera amps, and a bunch of pedals. There were a few Dean guitars, 2 Ibanez hsh guitars, and 2 Gibson Les Pauls. I did check the prices on the LPs. The regular one was $1350. The Studio one was only $700. They had a few Casiahas, and a Roland JD-Xi.
I should be doing a north of the river trip next Wed, so stay tuned. I also will be getting takeout food for a while starting on Wed.

Well, I'm not doing my trip today. I am getting my car worked on right now. I was going to do that tomorrow, but the customer rep I work with is off tomorrow because he is filling in for another guy(today is his usual day off). I hope to be going tomorrow. While I'm not going to the two places in this town, because they are a bit of a drive, I'm going to a few others. I think I'll also visit the main Salvation Army thrift store so I don't have to do it tomorrow.
I do have something to review though. I forgot to do it on Fri because I was feeling shitty.
Last Wed, I went to Little Caesars and got a Hot n Ready sausage pizza. I ate it after it had gotten cold. It was good, but it could have had a bit more sausage on it.

I wish these fucking annoying kids would leave the fucking library!!!!
Well, I finished another bottle earlier today. It is Deep Eddy Vodka lemon flavor. This did not taste very good. All I got was some kind of burn, and maybe a bit of some kind of sour/citrus flavor. It tasted better when I mixed it with some water. It maybe did taste a bit like lemonade. The thing with that is you got to add the right amount, or it will taste like watered-down lemonade.
I don't know when I will open my next bottle. I night buy some beer at the store to try.

I think the kids fucked up the printer, so maybe they'll leave soon.
Wed after I got my car fixed, I went to 4 thrift stores.
At the first one, behind the counter, the had a flute for $47. There was also A Mackie VLZ 1202 mixer for $73. The girl showed me the flute, and said that it looked like it needed repair. She said they checked the mixer by turning it on and seeing that the lights came on. She said they were having a 1/2 price sale on Saturday. Even at the full price they were asking, the mixer is a gooooood deal, that is, if it's working. It doesn't matter how much it is if it's fucked.
At the next place, a Salvation Army, There was a Yamaha PSR-170 for $39. Nearby was a Behringer GM108 for $34. That might be a good price if it wasn't missing the speaker. Behind one counter was a First Act guitar for $35.
The last place I stopped at was the main Salvation Army thrift store. There wasn't anything in the main area. In the as-is section, there was a ton of organs. The Farfisa was still there. There were a few pianos, but I don't care about them. The one that's been there for a long time was gone, or it was moved to another area.
Here is a list of the organs in there: Wurlitzer ? Baldwin ? Hammond ? Hammond 123XL Lowrey Celebration Lowrey Saturn Deluxe GEM Wizard 326
At least those kids are gone now!

Yesterday, I did my north of the river run. I usually start at the main SA thrift store, but did that Wed. I got a late start again. I would have left earlier if the old Law & Order SVU wasn't one I hadn't seen/remembered(today's was one I saw a few months ago).
The first placed I stopped at was the gun store. There was a Mossberg .22 that looked like an AR-15 for $322. I forgot if I said it before, but I hate poser guns.
I didn't stop at the military surplus store this time, because it doesn't seem anything changes.
Next up is a pawn shop. I told the guy there about the Novation Basstation kb not having a headphone jack. There was a Line6 POD for $59 and a Marshall reverb pedal. There was also a Korg microKEY controller kb that had 61 keys. There was a Hofner violin(aka Beatle) bass. The guitars were pretty much the same. The Ovation I saw last time is an Ultra GS1, and was $299.
The Goodwill is still being worked on. There was a 49-key Technobeat kb in kiddie colors.
I then went to that one junk shop that was closed last time due to the power being out. This time the door was locked. There was no sign on the door saying what was going on. As I was leaving some guy that did not look like the owner was doing some kind of finger gesture. I didn't know who he was, so I left. In my rearview mirror, I saw that he wasn't walking toward the shop.
I then went into the one strip mall that has a bunch of shops. 3 of them are gone. I first went to the place called Man Cave. The Talent and Peavey guitars were still there, as was the Peavey amp. There was also some model of Behringer amp.
Next was the thrift store for cats. Last time they said they didn't do adoptions there anymore. This time they had a kitten and adult cat for adoption. They had 3 store cats that just wander around.
Then I stopped at the pawn shop. Pretty much everything there was the same. I did see a Korean Squire(where they were built after they left Japan) and a Kramer strat. I don't recall the prices on either.
Next is the DAV thrift store. They also had a 49-key Technobeat kb. There was also a Casio CTK-720 for $43. At least this one had over 30 keyboard sounds.
At the next thrift store, there was a Acrosonic console piano for $199.
At another nearby thrift store, there was one of those First Act mini drum thingies. There was also a flute for $50, but it looked to have the same problems as the one I saw Wed.
At the next thrift store, they also had a $49 Technobeat kb. There was also a bass by a company called Drive for $30. I'm kind of thinking it was smaller than normal, made for a kid.
My time on the computer is running out, so I'll see you later.

Next, I visited The Guitar Syndicate. I think a lot of the guitars that I saw previously were gone. I saw the Jap Squire. The "hippie" guitar was in the main room now. I didn't see anything really interesting on the "fancy wall". On the counter where there are usually keyboards, there were 2 Casiaha's that may have been there before. There was also a Roland RD-100 for $500. Behind that counter were 2 flutes. I didn't check their prices. There was a Mexican Tele for $299. For amps, there was a Peavey Special 112. There was also a Marshall Valvestate half-stack for $550. The head component is an AVT30H. The Roland Alpha Juno was still there. It was on a stand and hooked up to an amp. The patch it was on when I first turned it on sounded like it would sound good for Van Halen's "Jump", and its prelude, "1984". Then I went to the new thrift store that opened up. There was a drum set by a company called Enforcer that was being sold in pieces. There was also the 4th, and last, Technobeat 49 key kb I would see that day. This one was in kiddie colors. Do these just go to thrift stores straight out of the factory? Then I went back and went to the jewlery/pawn shop. There was some drum set I didn't look at. There was a Peavey Studio Pro 112. For guitars, there was an Electra-Westone, which might have been the one last time I couldn't identify. I did some Googling that day, and I recall that brand being good. It was behind the counter, but I wouldn't have wanted to mess with it because it had the strap. Maybe one day I'll get around to explaining. I the gun area, there was a Ruger 22 Charger exactly like www.gunsumerreports.com/Ruger_22_Charger_Takedown/Ruger_22_Charger_Takedown_000.JPG crappy wood stain and all. Next was the tornado Cash America. When I first came in, there was a Stagg amp. After checking their site, I think it was a bass amp. I think most of the guitars behind the counter were still there, including the $1900 "snakeskin". I think this is where they had the $299 Mexican Strat I had noted. There was a $249 Mexican Strat on the regular wall. There were a bunch of Squires. I think there was 1 Chinese, and the rest Indonesian. One of these had a red matte wood stain finish. They also had a neon yellow Kramer and a neon pink BC Rich, both for $199.
At the Salvation Army, those 2 keyboards were still there, but now there were 2 more similar ones. There was a General Music organ for $199, and a Kimball organ.
I then stopped a the library to email my notes to myself and cool off.
Then was the strip club pawn shop. I think everything there was pretty much the same. They did have a Dean fixed bridge superstrat and a Dean Dime guitar in b&w cammo.
Next place to mention was the gun store. They had 2 of those Ruger things I mentioned above, but they didn't have bipods like in the pic. I don't recall if they had the same wood stain coloring. They also had a 20-round clip for an SKS for $20. Since I have an SKS, I mulled it over, but passed on it. They had a box of AR-15 clips for $15 each. Even though I don't own one, I would have bought one if they were this retro style: c672786.ssl.cf2.rackcdn.com/ProductImages/USGI/UsedNonGuns/R1-USGI-20-M.jpg
Since I didn't fuck around too long in the library, I was intending on going to the cruddy thrift store I'd often miss because it closed at 4pm. This time when I showed up, it is out of business.
The next place to mention was the antique store, and all they had was a clarinet and an autoharp.
My final stop was a pawn shop. They still had the Solton kb. There was a Dean Markley K50 bass amp that I may have seen before. They had 3 different kinds of Ibanez's GiO line: strat, superstrat, and double-cutaway.

The day after that, I visited the thrift stores in my town. I was going to skip 2 of them because our state was starting a tax-free weekend on school supplies and clothes, and I figured people would be stopping in those places too to do back-to-school shopping. When I went past them, the parking lots weren't packed, so I visited them. There was a third one I went to that did have quite a few people inside. I knew I was going to avoid Walmart and Target.
There is an antique store in my town that I visited many years ago, so I decided to go in and take a look. There was a piano, accordion, and clarinet. I might have seen a violin, but didn't put in my notes. There was also a small amp that had a badge that read "US AMP". I wasted too much time trying to look it up, and didn't find it.
Next was one of the places I was originally going to skip. Right by the door was 3 Atari 2600 games that anybody could have swiped. There was He-Man and Ghostbusters. They were $6.99 and $9.99, but I don't know which game had which price. The third game was made by the Bally company and was called Tapper. They wanted $14.99 for that one.
There were 3 kiddie keyboards, bun none were Technobeat.
Sitting on top of a glass case was an acoustic guitar for $39. It had a shorter scale, so was probably for a kid. I tried to play "Dust in the Wind" on it. Sitting next to it was a trumpet. Inside the case was a Morley wah for $34. There was also 2 games inside. I originally thought they were NES, but the seemed to look too big. One of them was the TMNT arcade game.
At the last place(the other I was going to skip), there was a Yamaha PSR-79 for $13. Even if that was a good price, I would have passed because it was very dirty.
I think I will be doing my big south of the river trip near the end of September.

I have another adult beverage to review.
This time it was Woodchuck Hard Cider. It was the Amber version, the basic variety. I thought it was going to taste like apple juice. It didn't. It tasted like beer with less of the beery taste. I think I did once catch an apple-ish whiff. It is gluten-free, so if you have celiac or some other kind of gluten disorder, I would recommend this as a beer substitute. I don't know if I would recommend this otherwise.
I bought some more mini bottles the other day, but haven't finished(or maybe even started) the ones I got last time. I have one of the older ones sitting on my desk waiting to be opened.
I think that's it for today. Next up will be the food.

Now it's time for the food.
On Wed I went to Subway. Usually I wouldn't mention Subway, but I haven't been there in a long time because I got tired of it. Also, I tried a new sandwich. I had all 3 sandwiches with regular white rolls, provolone cheese, and grated parmesan cheese. 1. BLT: I didn't have extra veggies on it. I had the vinaigrette dressing that Subway came out with a few months ago. It was good, but I don't think I really tasted the vinaigrette. 2 . Turkey & Bacon Guacamole: The only veggie I had on this was a little bit of spinach. It was good. There seemed to be a little bit too much guac because it was gooping out the sides when I'd take a bite. Maybe the guac would stay in place if there were more veggies. 3. Italian Meatball: The only veggie item I had was a few olives. Before they put the stuff on, I had them put the bread in the oven for a bit. The sandwich was good, and the bread was perfect. On Th I went to Church's. They were doing a 10 pieces for $10 thing where you would pick 2 different types of chicken. I got the mixed pieces and the chicken strips. I also got the large fries. I also got the family-sized gravy. The chicken was good, and so was the gravy. The fries were good. I dipped them in the gravy. Their large is more expensive than the large from McD's, but there looked to be a lot more there. I did have something else serious to note. The first piece I had was a chicken strip. When I bit into it, a piece went down my throat. Fortunately, it didn't get caught in my windpipe. I was able to do the throat-clearing thing and it went down where it should. I was afraid I was going to have to call 911. Fri I got some hot food at a local grocery store. Sat I got stuff at the Thai place. I got the Thai Spicy Catfish Filet, Kha Nom Jeep, and Won Ton soup. The catfish dish was breaded pieces of catfish, eggplant, other veggies, and a sauce over rice. This was really good. The won ton soup was good. It looks like they take a couple of noodles and put some chicken between them. There were 2 of these "dumplings". The Chinese place I used to go to(before it closed) had these in their won ton soup, and I just thought they were some mystery piece of chicken with the skin still attached. The Kha Nom Jeep is little dumplings filled with shrimp served on a lettuce leaf, and comes with sweet and sour sauce. This was ok. The sauce tasted like a sweet soy sauce, which I didn't think was that great. Sun I went to Arby's. I got those 3 bacon sandwiches they were advertising. I also got the Loaded Italian sandwich they're currently promoting. I got 2 orders of onion rings which were good. The first sandwich I had was the bacon and ham. The bacon had too much of the maple/sweet taste. The next sandwich was the beef and bacon. I think it may have had a bit of the same problem. The third one was the BLT, which the only meat was the bacon. I think I didn't really taste the bacon; I think I tasted more of the lettuce and tomato. The Loaded Italian was the last sandwich I had. It was ok. The 3 bacon sandwiches were more filling then I expected, so when I had this one, I was quite full, which most likely affected my opinion. On Mon, I stopped in Walmart and got some mozzarella sticks and a piece of breaded tilapia. Both were good. Later that night, I went to the Indian restaurant that is closest to me. I got the chicken vidaloo, hot spiciness level, onion bhajhi, and potato and pea paratha. The chicken vindaloo was good. Because it got cold, it wasn't as spicy. If you search spiciness and temperature into Google, you read what's up with this. The potato and pea paratha is a bread with potato and pea baked into it. It was good. I could taste other flavors beside the bread. The onion bhaji is a deep-fried onion fritters. It was good. My food came with the three condiments: hari chutney, tamarind chutney, and the mystery fruit and honey. All were good. I used the last one with the bread, and the other 2 with both the bread and the bahji. The container with the hari chutney was packed, probably to get rid of it. When I was waiting, the asked if I wanted chai tea or mango-something. Since I assumed the mango drink was what I had last time, I took the tea. Since it is tea it was very hot. It was good when it cooled down. I think there was cream in there because it looked like coffee with cream in it. Looking at the menu, I think the mango drink is called mango lassi. Tue I went back to Walmart and got the cheesecake sampler, and the Great Value(Wm-brand) version of Cool Whip to put on it. I then went to a grocery store(a different one from Fri) and got a container of cookies and cream, which was good. The cheesecake sampler had 4 varieties: plain, plain with strawberry stuff on top, turtle(plain with chocolate chips and some carmel stuff on top), and chocolate. Even though I love chocolate, The chocolate cheesecake didn't appeal to me. The turtle variety was ok. The best were the plain and plain with strawberry. I didn't finish everything that nigh, so I snacked on it Wed and Th. I think dessert kind of stuff fills you up faster than regular food. I tried researching that on Google for a bit, and couldn't find anything. Wed I went to one of the local McDonalds and got the 1/3lb Lettuce & Tomato Sirloin Burger, because that was the one I didn't get last time. I also made yet another trip to Walmart and picked up some food.
I'll continue later. I'm going to check on tonight's food and pick up the food for tomorrow.
See you soon!

Let's see if I can get some more done.
I left off at McDonalds and Walmart.
First for the McD's burger. It was ok, but it didn't seem any better than other burgers I've had. One bite I took gave a taste of steak, or at least beef; instead of the hamburger taste.
Here is a list of the Walmart food. I would've gotten some breaded tilapia, but they were out.
Seafood Salad: Some places call this crab salad even though it's not made from real crab; it's actually some seafood product called "mock crab". Even though the fish pieces were big, the green onions kind of dominated, even though those pieces were small. The solution would be to cook the onions before adding them in the salad. Even a quick trip to the microwave would help.
Jalapeno Poppers: I got a few of these since the store I was getting them at weren't selling them(they actually did today).
Deep-Fried Okra: These were good. I haven't been to store that I get these at for a long time, and the last time(or more) that I was there, they didn't have them.
The next 3 things I had to heat up because they don't taste good cold. I had gone earlier in the evening to WM because the stop selling the food earlier. The stuff would have been better if it hot from WM.
Popcorn Shrimp: This was good.
Popcorn Chicken: I don't know if this was the first time I had this. It was good. I did use a container of McDs ranch dipping sauce that I had in the fridge. It tasted good with the chicken.
Mozarella Sticks: These were good.
Also I want to note that except for the burger and okra, I had leftovers. Not a lot. I'll comment on those later.
On Thursday, I went to Papa John's and got the Grilled Chicken Margherita Pizza they've been advertising. This was good. I think next time I'll have try the Bruschetta Cheesesticks that the employee told me about when I got my pizza. If I didn't get a pizza at PJ, I would have got one somewhere else.
I think I'll stop there. I might try to post some more on Fri.
