For anybody outside the US reading this, Monday was a holiday called Memorial Day.
On Monday, after I visited a tattoo parlor, I was planning on going to the music store called Big Dude's which was nearby. They were closed for the holiday.
I then went over to the junk shop near the main Salvation Army thrift store. There wasn't much junk because they guy was moving to a different building.
I then went to the Salvation Army thrift store. The as-is area was closed, but the main area was open. Nothing to report.
I then went back to my town and visited the Goodwill thrift store, and didn't see anything interesting.
After I went home, I went back out. The first 2 thrift stores were closed for the holiday. The third is always closed on Mondays.
The fourth place was actually open. I found a chair I liked(I need a new chair), but didn't buy it. Then I saw an electric guitar. It was pink and was from the company First Act, and only $29. When I tried tuning it, I noticed it had a big problem; the wire for the 4th fret was missing. I can't imagine how that happened, but being a beginner guitar didn't help things. The other item of note was a big saxophone for $199.
I also visited Walmart, but I'll mention that with the food.
Finally I stopped at another thift store. When I passed by when I originally left, it was open, but when I stopped by, they were closed. There was a sign saying they closed at 1pm due to the holiday.

Tuesday, I decided to do the north of the river gun/pawn/thrift store run. I'll not mention places if there weren't interesting items, but will list them for other reasons
First I drove back to the Salvation Army to check out the as-is area. The Farfisa organ was still there. There were also a fuckton of pianos. There was also a Hammond Phoenix organ.
Then I went into the gun store. When I went in, there was nobody behind the counter, which is bad because there some guns sitting loose. The room is shaped like an L, and I think I did hear someone say hello when I walked in. I did mess with some of those aforementioned loose guns. I messed with a Remmington 870 shotgun and a Romainian AK-47. I also messed with a double-barreled shotgun, but couldn't get get barrels to "fire". I also picked up a Bushmaster(AR-15 clone), but couldn't figure out how to cock it.
At the first pawn shop, a buch of the guitars were still there: the Gibson Melody Maker, the ugly Epiphone, the Laguna, and the $750 Charvel. The little Yamaha I mentioned on Aug 26 of last year was back. It is a PS-3.
There was some new guitars to mention: a Schecter 2hb with a fancy top, a neon pink Ibanez RG for $399 and an Ovation super strat with just 1hb.
In the keyboard dept, there was a The Laboratory 49 by Arturia for $199 I think. There was also a Novation Bass Station for $199. There was a lot of duct tape on it. I brought it to the counter so the guy could plug it inso I could test it. The first problem was there was no headphone jack. I then plugged my headphones into the line out jack. When I tried playing, I didn't hear anything. I asked the guy if it worked, and he said they did play it through amp. He offered to that for me, but I declined(sine I wasn't going to buy it anyway).
Next to discuss is Goodwill. This falls under "other reasons. There was some kind of remodeling going on, so part of the shop was tarped off. The other thing to mention was this small Asian girl was wearing these high-heels that were so high she was almost on her tippy-toes. In the corner of my eye, it looked like the toes on one of her feet were sticking out funny. I think she also looked like she was in pain when she was walking.
Then I stopped at the junk shop I mentioned Jan 21. There were 2 guys outside. One was the owner who told me the power went out, so he wasn't letting people in.
I'm going to stop here, and hopefully pick up tomorrow.

I'm back.
Next I went to the strip mall that has a pawn shop, thrift store, and several other antique/junk shops. In the latter category, there is a place called Man Cave*. There was an LP Special copy from a brand called Talent. There was an Epi SG Special for $200. Also, there was a Peavey Rockmaster guitar for $100. I also saw a Peavey Rockmaster GT5 amp sitting there, but I don't recall a price tag on it. Actually, the Rockmaster guitar and amp are beginner items, and new are sold as a set.
The thrift store is affiliated with a cat shelter. There was nothing of note in there. the highlight of visiting there was that there were cats up for adoption that you could interact with. This time when I visited, there were no cats. I asked a worker who was taking a smoke break, and she said they don't do adoptions anymore.
My last visit in the complex was the pawn shop. They moved one store over from where they used to be. There was a Crate acoustic guitar amp. There was also a Peavey Classic Chorus 2x12. There were still a ton of strat copies(probably the same as before), and at least 1 of the 3 Squires was there before. The guitar with the funky headstock was still there. There was also a no-name HSS guitar there. I had a brain fart with my notes, and indicated it was from Talent, but that was the brand of the one Man Cave guitar.
Next up is a thrift store that had an acoustic guitar and a clarinet. Then another thrift store that had some kiddie keayboard called something like Technomaster for $25. That was priced about $20 too high.
Time to go!!!!
* I hate that expression.

I'm finally back after not being able to post for a while. I won't go into the whole $2k saga of getting my car fixed. Let's see, where were we...oh yeah. The next place was the Guitar Syndicate. The 2 Roland amps were there, as was the synth. There was also a keyboard on the one counter, and it may have been one I mentioned before. The customized "hippie" guitar was now on the "fancy" wall. In terms of new stuff, there was a pair of Randall Pa cabs. They were from the late 70's/early 80's. My notes indicated a Peavey amp, but I don't remember what it was. There was a Mexican Strat for $399. There was also a National LP copy for $350, even though it was only a bolt-neck. Behind the counter with the Roland synth and other keyboard was an Ibanez PF 300 LP copy. It wasw something like $750. A few feet away was a Mexican Telecaster for something like $450. And next to that was an American Esqure(what the Telecaster used to be called) for $774. After that was the jewlerly/pawn shop. The building it is in is getting another business, so there were workers putting up a wall. This was where the guitar stuff was, so they moved that behind a tiny counter. There was a guitar that looked interesting, but I couldn't see the headstock. I didn't feel like bothering anybody there to show it to me. This time, they had a lot of guns. Now was the tornado Cash America. Behind the counter was a custom Charvel guitar with a paintjob that looked like snakeskin. They wanted $1999 for it. In the main area, there were 3 Squires. Also was a nice-looking Ibanez for $149. Regarding keyboards, there was a Yamaha digital piano for $349. There was also one by a brand named Williams for $249. They also had a Casio CTK 2100 for $59. I think there were also 2 other cheap Casios. Then I went to the Salvation Army. Behind a counter were 2 keyboards. I had a worker there tell me the prices. There was a Casio CTK 501 for $49. The '2100 at CA would be a better deal. The other keyboard was a Bontempi chord organ for $39. That was a major ripoff. Out on the floor was a Thomas Troubadour 183 organ for 34. In the toy section was a crappy kiddie kb. Then I stopped at the library to rest a bit, type up my notes, and take my 2nd piss(did the first at Goodwill). At the strip club pawn shop, pretty much everything was the same, but I think the GAIA synth was gone. There were a few pedals this time. There was an Akai Headrush delay. There was also a Digitech Death Metal and Digitech The Weapon(sig pedal for Disturbed guitarist). At the next thrift store was a Conn Trombone. Then I went to the gun store. There were 3 or 4 guns grouped together, but I couldn't hear what the guy told me they all were. I remember one was an M1, and another was an FN FAL. I then stopped by the junky thrift store that closes at 4, and sure enough, it was closed again. If I had gotten an earlier start and/or not stopped at the library, I might have gotten in. My last stop was across the street at the shopping center that has an antique store, a thrift store, and a pawn shop. At the antique store, I saw a bugle, flute, and autoharp. One of the booths had a suitcase amp by a company called Luna Guitars. At the pawn shop, they still had the amp like mine and the Solton kb. For the guitars, there was some non-Jap Squire. In the amp dept, there was a Line 6, and a Fender BXR. There was also a Dean Markley K 50 for $39. I think I was confused about what inst it was for.

The next day I did the South of the River run. Again I got a real late start. Then on my way over to the first place, there were a pair of fuckers on motorcycles driving slow in the left lane, and causing a pack of traffic. When I was able to get out of the pack, I slammed on the gas and got my car up to maybe 110. Since I was pissed at the traffic, I contracted a brain fart and missed my exit. It took me bit to figure this out. It took me a wile to get back to where I was going. The first place was the thrift store that once smelled like a restroom. The only item was a keyboard with mini-keys called something like Techno Blaster. The only reason I mentioned this was because the thing surprisingly had 61 keys. Next was the place across the street called Shining Light Music. This time there were people inside. There was some bargain tele. There was also a Washburn acoustic 12-string for $369. I don't know if it was new or used. In the kb dept, they had a Yamaha YPG-235. I saw a Roland JX-8P sitting on its side inside a door. I asked the people what was the deal, and they said it was getting repaired. I then went to the flea market. I saw an acoustic with no name on it(I didn't look inside though). In another booth was a Lyon acoustic and 2 tiny amps for $25 each. And in another booth was some electric guitar and a snare drum next to it. The Salvation Army next door was closing that Saturday, and they didn't have a new location yet. Next was a shopping center that had the "African" thrift store, which was now closed. It also had my next destination, called Legacy Music. They pretty much had the same kind of stuff, but I don't remember if they had the EVH brand stuff this time. They had two items of interest. First was one of these: www.squierguitars.com/series/vintage-modified/vintage-modified-bass-vi-rosewood-fingerboard-3-color-sunburst/ Second was: www.squierguitars.com/series/vintage-modified/vintage-modified-telecaster-special-maple-fingerboard-butterscotch-blonde/ The next place to mention is the Raytown Cash America. In the glass case was an Ibanez Weeping Demon wah for $44. I think I'll stop for now and get home. Hopefully I will continue on Friday.

Back again.
I don't remember if the JX-3P was still there. There was at least 1 Casiaha. There was also a Kurzweil SP76 for $399.
For guitars, they had a Dean V, 2 Chinese Squires, and a guitar from SGR, which is Schecter's budget line.
For amps, there was some Marshall Valvestate for $149. There was also an older interesting amp. It was from Univox, and was $99. I think it was a U65G. The main thing was it had inputs for guitar, microphone and organ. It didn't have distortion, but had tremolo, and if it was a '65, it also had reverb, but only a basic tone knob.
Next was the building that has a gun shop and pawn shop. I went into the gun shop first. They had a FN FAL copy from a company called Hesse.
Well, it's time to go again. I should be back on Wed.

FUCK!!!!!!!! I was at the dealership again getting my car worked on. While I was waiting, I spent an hour typing up the rest of my trip in my Hotmail account on a computer they have there. I think their computers block this site, so I was intending to send it to my Yahoo account to copy and paste here today. When I was trying to delete the notes I had pasted there, the whole text of the email deleted. They use Chrome as a browser, and it doesn't seem to have an undo function. Right as this happened, my car was ready, so I didn't stay and try to recover it(which might have been possible) since I wanted to get home. I spent some time Mon and Tue typing it again, which took less time because it was still in my brain.
What pisses me off more is that my car is fucking up again, so I'm intending to bring it in on Fri. That's why I didn't visit the strip club pawn shop today even though I drove past it.
Well let me get back to what I was here for.
There was also a pair of Ruger Mini 14's. They had a MAC10 copy or two or three. They also had an H&K MP5 type of gun that only used .22's. Since it only used .22's, I wouldn't be interested, even though it was from H&K. I then went into the pawn shop next door. There was a Gibson acoustic behind the counter for $499. They had some Casiha kb. For amps, there was a Fender BXR, and an acoustic brand amp. There was also a head by Tubeworks that was either $379 or $399. For guitars, there was a Squire 7-string. They also had an Epiphone SG with cross inlays that didn't go all the way down the neck. I don't think it was a Tony Iommi model. There was also a guitar that had an Ibanez RG neck and an SG-shaped body that looked homemade. Next is a thrift store that had a Thomas organ. I don't know if it has been there before. Outside was a small yellow bird lying dead on the ground. Downhill from there is the hole-in-the-wall pawn shop. They had quite a few firearms, but I didn't ask about any of them. They had a Casio CTK 2080 for $79. You can find online deals for new ones for not much more than that. There was a Marshall amp I thought was a G50 for $79. For guitars, there was a nice-looking Ibanez, a Mexican Strat for $399, and an EVH Wolfgang for $499. Behind the counter was a Rickenbacker bass for $1399. I don't know if it was a 4001 or 4003. Next up was the piss break thrift store. They had a Yamaha organ for $75, which was marked down from $150. After I was in there, I took a piss behind the shopping center. Then I finally went tom that gun store that I've passed by a few times. The only thing of note was an MP5 clone for $3000. Then I went to a Cash America. For keyboards, they had 2 Casios, a Yamaha PSS-270, and a Kawai digital piano. Inside the glass case was a Line6 DL4 delay pedal, a Rockton wah for $79, and a BOSS TM-7 guitar monitor for $34. I might get the TM-7, especially if they do a cash discount. For guitars, they had 2 Chinese Squires. There were 2 Epiphione LP's with set necks. They had 2 Dean Dimebag guitars and a Dean V. There was also a Yamaha RGX110. At the nearby Salvation Army was a Hammond Phoenix for $89.
Then was the crazy pawn shop. There was a BC Rich guitar case shaped like a coffin for $89. There was a Cort 7-string. And there was a Dimebag and Kerry King V from Dean. In the glass counter was a Silvertone guitar with the case that has a built-in amp for $749. For guns, there was a FN NAL copy, but I don't recall if I asked the employee about it. There was somer kind of MAC10-style gun. There was also a gun that looked like a WWII submachine gun for $599. At the Cash America I've been frequenting lately, nothing much has changed, except there was a quire that was either Indonesian or Chinese, and a Squire with no label that was probably one of those Chinese ones that was originally part of a starter pack. I then went to the library to type up my notes and cool off. Finally I stopped at the thrift store that seemed to close early, that I sometimes miss. I intended to check the hours and found it was closed down.

Something was a bit off with the formatting in that first paragraph, and I didn't fell like wanting to fix it; I just wanted to get all that posted.
I did visit the strip club pawn shop last Wed. All three of the fx pedals were gone, even though the Akai delay was the only one worth buying.

Now it's time to list the food I had. On Monday(Memorial Day), I was shopping at Walmart, so I decided to pick up some mozzarella sticks. I also got some pieces of General Tso's Chicken. Like I've said many times before, I love theses mozz sticks!!!! The chicken was real good too, but I was expecting it to spicy since it had some of those green-bean-sized chili peppers. That night, I got stuff from the new Indian restaurant that is located where there was another one, which was the first place I got Ind food from. I got the Chicken Tika Saag. Of course I got the spicy variety. This was really good, but again, it wasn't that spicy. I do wonder if they make stuff spicier for Indian people. I also got the vegetable pakora. This was also good. I do like that the veggies were more finely chopped than one of the other 2 places. Finally was the cheese naan. It was good, but like the other 2 places, I couldn't taste any cheese. I would have gotten the paneer pakora, but that is too similar to the mozz sticks I had earlier that day.
And of course there were condiments. The hari chutney had a bit of "grassiness" to it; kind of like cooked spinach. I remember the tamarind chutney being good, but I can't describe it since it's been too long ago. I tried boht these with the naan and pakora. There was a third container. When I took it out of the bag, I thought it was oil mixed with something else that had solidified since I didn't eat right away. When I opened it up, I realized it was honey with a grape-sized fruit in it. I assumed this for the naan. While it was good, I don't like like having sweet stuff with my meal, though this honey/fruit thing wasn't overly so.
Another interesting thing was when I got my food. The guy brought out something on a toothpick for me to eat, which I found out later was a veggie pakora. I'm guessing they were trying to get rid of excess food since it was getting close to closing time. He also brought me a drink for free. It was good. I don't remember anything about the taste except that it was sweet. It was a creamy yellow color.
On Tuesday when I was doing my trip, I stopped in Church's Chicken to ask some questions. Later that night, I went there. They was some deal for 14 pieces of chicken or 14 tenders for $13.99. You could also get a combination of the two, which is what I did. I also got a family size gravy, which is the largest size. One of the reasons I went there was to try the Purple Pepper Sauce which they were advertising at the time. When I stopped in during my trip, they said they had it. But when I went there later, they had run out. That pissed me off, but the chicken and gravy was good.
I think I'll go now. I don't know if I'll be back on Friday. It depends on what happens with my car.

Well, I'm at the dealership waiting to find out what is wrong with my car. So obviously, I can view the site here. For some retarded reason, Google doesn't work, so you need to know, or correctly guess, the address.
On Wed, I went to Burger King and McDonald's. They have late hours, so I was able to get my stuff at the time I wanted to eat it. At BK, I got the 2 for $5 deal. I got the fish sandwich and the teriyaki chicken sandwich, which was a limited time item. The fish sandwich was ok. The chicken sandwich was fine, but I seem to recall not tasting any teriyaki flavor. At McD's, I got 2 large fries, which were of course good. I also got 2 of the 3 sirloin burgers. The first I had was the Bacon & Cheese. While I love bacon, it was the predominant flavor. Since these burgers are expensive, I want to taste the beef too. The other one was the Steakhouse. This one has mushrooms on it, and those were the main flavor. I should have gotten the third one, the Lettuce & Tomato, which is the normal one.
On Thursday, I went out to comparison shop for what I was going to get that night and pick up the next day. I won't mention what I got that day.
One of the places I went to was Walmart, so I decided to pick up something to snack on. I wanted to try something new, so I got 1 or 2 chicken tenders and some jalapeno poppers from the deli area. Both of these were real good.
Friday, I went back out, and I stopped at Walmart for a snack. I got some mozz sticks, a piece of breaded talapia. and some breaded okra. Do I even need to review the mozz sticks? I've had the talapia before and liked it, and it was good this time too. The breaded okra was good.
For my main dinner, I had some deli meats and an eggplant. The reason I was bringing this up is because I wanted to talk about the eggplant. I had never cooked one before, so I had talked to my best friend about how to do it. What I did was cut it into slices. Then I salted both sides of each slice. I put each slice on a clean dish towel and put another one on top of them. This is to draw water out of the eggplant, because apparently the water makes them taste bitter. I then set the oven to 400F. I took a brush and brushed both sides of each slice with canola oil. All of the slices wouldn't fit on the cookie sheet, so I just brushed the ones before I put them on the cookie sheet. I then baked them in the oven for a long time. When I took the cookie sheet out, I checked the slices. I removed some of the slices that were already soft. The other ones were brown on top, so I flipped them over. I then waited a little while more, and the rest of slices got soft, so I took them out. I then did the same stuff with the rest of the slices. For some reason, these seemed to take longer than the first batch. Even though I brushed canola oil on both sides of each slice, there was still some burnt stuff left on the cookie sheet.
As for the taste, It was really good. It was good plain, but I tried some other things on top. I tried salt and pepper, each on their own, which wasn't so great.
My car will be ready soon, so I'll go now. I think I may continue later today, so stay tuned.

Ok, I'm back. This time the repair was only $65, and hopefully I won't have anymore problems. Now back to the food. I was talking about the eggplant. I also tried garlic powder, but don't recall about that. I also tried this herbal mix called Italian Seasoning, which is a mix of basil, oregano, and 2 0r 3 other things. I think it was ok. I also tried parmesan cheese, which was good. I also recall liking putting all three of these things on a single slice. I'm thinking when I get take another break from work, I'll get another eggplant. The last day was Saturday. I went to Papa John's and got one of those Greek pizzas and an order of Garlic Knots. I got the garlic dipping sauce with them. They were really good. As for the Greek pizza.... For some reason, one of the toppings is banana peppers. To me, they taste like jalapenos. While they were not hot or anything, they were the only thing I tasted. The only other item worth mentioning was that the pizza is supposed to be $12.99 and the GK $5, but I swear my bill was only $11.99. Of course, I'm not upset over this, especially considering my disappointment with the pizza. I'm not done though. Two weeks ago, after I picked my car up, I stopped at Quicktrip. I got the Chicken, Bacon & Ranch flatbread sandwich. It was really good even though it has cheddar cheese on it. I had gotten one of these previously, which I posted about on Dec3 of last year. I didn't like it then because I had let it get cold. This time, I ate it on the way home, so it was hot. Today after I got my car, I stopped at Burger King. When I was typing up my stuff earlier today, I went to the BK site, and saw they were doing the 10 chicken nuggets for $1.49 thing. I got those, and they were good. In our area, they are doing a test run of corndogs and hot dogs. There is only 1 type of corndog, but 4 hotdogs. I stuck with the Classic, which is the basic one. It has mustard, ketchup, onions, and relish. It was good, but $1.99 seems a bit too pricey for a hotdog, especially considering you can make your own for WAAAAY less. The BK I went to apparently doesn't make the chili dog. Here is a pic someone else took of the menu screen: 3.bp.blogspot.com/-pi91GiXiXmQ/VWP7mm8dRUI/AAAAAAAAnME/FDEmOMU4LO4/s1600/burger-king-hot-dog-menu.JPG After I leave here, I'm getting something at Hardees. I will post about that and some other stuff on Wed. See you then.

Hello. My city is full of retard drivers!
Let's get to the food.
First, here is the last food item. After I stopped at the library, I went to Hardees and got the 1/3 lb Most American Thickburger. It was really good. I could taste both the hamburger patty itself and the hot dog. I couldn't taste the chips, even though they did crunch. It is expensive at $5.99, but it is HUGE. According to the Hardees's website, there is a 1/4 lb version, but the menu at the H's in my town didn't have it(there was also the 1/2 lb), or else I would have gotten it instead.
While I'm here, I also wanted to give you a list of ingredients in the Italian Seasoning: thyme oregano marjoram basil rosemary sage no parsley though(old song reference)

Now is time for drinks. I only tried one alcoholic beverage during my vacation. It was Lewis Osterweis & Sons Hard Ginger Beer by Saint Louis Brewery. First 2 things before my review: 1. Saint Louis Brewery is famous for their Schalfy Beer brand; 2. "Hard" denotes that is has alcohol in it. I was hoping this was going to taste like the soda called ginger ale, but I was disappointed. It just tasted like beer, but with less of the "beery" taste. I still have all the mini-bottles, and even bought some more. I just got another finished last night. I had opened it maybe a month ago, but wanted to wait to finish and review it before I got all this other stuff done.
The one I finished was Tijuana Sweet Heat tequila. the bottom of the bottle says "infused with %100 agave nectar. I have never had tequila nor anything with agave, so I have no point of reference. It surprisingly didn't seem to have much burn, even though I thought tequila was famous for that. It also didn't taste overly alcohol-y.
I don't know if I'll start another bottle tonight. My heel has been hurting, and I'm thinking of taking some ibuprofen to see if that will fix it. Ibuprofen is one of those meds that you can't have with alcohol. In the non-alcoholic beverage category, I got some real good news. When I was comparison shopping on that Thursday, when I was in Walmart, I saw a 2-liter palette thingy full of the Coconut Wave soda. This stuff is goooood!!!! I bought a bottle of course. It is by Walmart's Great Value brand, but I could have sworn that originally it was by another company.

After I had my car fixed, and before I stopped at BK, I went into the 2 nearby thrift stores because I thought I should wait until 10am to see if they were serving lunch/dinner items. The only place that had stuff to mention was the Salvation Army. The Hammond organ was still there, but this time behind it was a console piano. Bothe the very high and very low keys were sitting in the down position, which is not a good thing. Nearby was a drum set for a kindergartener sitting in a shopping cart. I may have seen it before set up near the front of the store, and may have mentioned it. In the toy section, there were 2 kiddie keyboards, including one from the Techno Beat brand. Behind one counter was an accordion. On one of my previous trips, I saw a few of them, but don't remember if this was one of those.
Today I visited the strip club pawn. There was a Yamaha S08 keyboard for $369. There was also an Ibanez EX series guitar for $89. It had the large EX logo and dot inlays. I think it only had 22 frets, and was either sss or hss. I was a bit out of it, so my brain was a bit off. I'll try to remember it if I go next week.
I guess that's all for now. I don't know when I'll be back.

Let's see....
My car was acting up again, but I hope I can hold off bringing it in until I'm off next month.
My heel is doing better. I've been taking ibuprofen for it. When it stops hurting, I'll get back to the booze.
I went into the strip club pawn shop today. There was an LTD(ESP's cheaper brand) M-10. Didn't check the price. I looked again at that Ibanez. It is actually $99. The EX logo is red. It has dot inlays, 22 frets, and an hss configuration. The knobs were not the standard ones.
That's all for now.
