907: "Satoshi and Serena! Get One at the Dance Party!!"
900: "Party Dancecapades!"
The twerps’ trip to Snowbelle City comes to a brief stop at a Pokemon Center. There, we see Bonnie humming a conspicuously-absent-from-the-English-dub song to Squishy, and a small squabble breaking out between Pancham and Braixen over who will be brushed.
Get along, little divas.
Anyway, everyone’s turn is over, so it’s time to get an update about Pokemon Showcases. And the latest buzz about is an upcoming dance party for trainers and Pokemon. And as Serena has a Pokemon who’d be all over that, we’re gonna be in for some…
It’s also mentioned that each attendee should have a date.
Let the ship tease begin.
Kalos Queen Aria is stated to be attending as well. So now the plan’s set. Oh, and it seems the Pokemon will need dates, too. So, for Twinklepaws’s date, I’m wondering who it could—oh, it’s Bunnelby. Good picking. So that means…
Yep, the one girl Bonnie didn’t designate as a possible candidate for Clemont is going to be his date. This’ll be good.
The twerps arrive at a nondescript castle where the party is happening. And who should overhear about Serena’s not-Ash date but…
The ship-teaser herself, Miette. And not only is she a ship-teaser, she also takes on the role of hypotenuse by asking Ash to be her date. Ever the stranger to love, Ash agrees.
If only Bunnelby was Ash’s, eh?
Team Rocket will be attending the party, too. Hey, they should, as Jessie won the previous showcase.
It’s nearly party time, so no better time than now to get ready. After partaking in the clothes-fitting activity that’s the favorite of women and the most despised of men, the party shall finally begin! And with a most delightful overture played by an offscreen orchestra, Pierre and Aria introduce the party with a ballroom dance, as does Delphox and Klefki. The dance floor opens to trainers and Pokemon alike. Pity Ash turns out to be as clumsy a dancer as he is a lover. Especially jarring considering he has a hard head, as Miette notes. And soon after Jessie tosses James like a ragdoll, it’s time for the dates to switch. Too bad not even that gives Serena her dream of dancing with Ash.
The next event at this party is a tag battle. But first, let’s get some refreshments while we guess who this is…
Serena came to dance, but now Ash has something he actually cares about to do. He’s teamed up with Serena to take on Miette and James. Ash begins with Pikachu’s Quick Attack, which is responded to with an Energy Ball from Slurpuff. Twinklepaws backs Pikachu up with Swift as Inkay enters battle with a Psybeam. An Iron Tail prevails over this struggle. Pikachu and Twinklepaws jump over a Psybeam, but then get caught in Slurpuff’s Cotton Spore, within which they get hit by another Psybeam. A Tackle from Inkay hits Pikachu. With Pikachu almost down, Twinklepaws guards her teammate with a Swift attack. It gets countered by an Energy Ball and then a Psybeam knocks it down. Pikachu’s Thunderbolt has no better luck. Things looks bad, but—
Serena’s dedication to her star dancer causes it to evolve into my favorite Pokemon (now you all know what my favorite Pokemon is).
Battle resumes with a Fairy Wind from Sylveon, who effortlessly dodges Inkay’s Tackles. One more Fairy Wind wins the battle for Ash and Serena.
After words of congratulations to Ash and Serena and words of haze to James, the location of the next Showcase is revealed. So, a new destination is added to the list of destinations, as the journey is…
