I like variety in Pokémon's personalities, I think if they all behaved in a similar way it would be/get boring. Plus it makes me view the Pokémon in different ways.
On topic, as I'm in the UK I've been seeing the dub episodes before anyone who lives in the US (and I can watch them legally online on ITV Player if I miss it on TV). I'm tempted to talk about one of these episodes, but I have to wait until you've all seen it and the guide is up, if I was good at writing I could have done it.
The latest episode that aired in the UK, on CITV, at Sunday 29th June, was "To Find a Fairy Flower!" (the Flabébé episode) which will be aired in the US, on CN, at 19th July. The UK is two episodes ahead of America, but once this season is finished CITV will start it back from the beginning and America will be first again.
Say, if that Bonnie filler's the episode about Flabébé, If you don't mind,I could take it off your hands. I like Flabébé, it's evolutionary line is one of my favorite Gen VI Pokémon.
Also, Going for the Gold was a boring episode, so I'd like a mulligan.
Well, I can handle it, even though I think that it is just as boring as the "Going For The Gold!" episode. But, if you really want it, go ahead, be my guest. I do not mind at all. Also, if you decide to write a guide for it, watch out for the pedo man
Sorry for bringing ( )this back up, but I also want to add the reason why it's stupid to think Iris wasn't close to Ash and Cilan just because she gets annoyed with them, calling Ash a kid and Cilan a pain, is because it's a common thing in anime to have that one friend who gets annoyed with the stupid things their friends do. Heck some of them even hit their friends if they do anything stupid (like Nami in One Piece or Sakura in Naruto) but it's clearly shown they are still friends - fact; the Straw Hat Pirates are as close as family - which is exactly the same with Iris (who's annoyance is mild compared to characters in most other animes).
Friends fight, they get annoyed with each other, but in the end they all still care. And if a silly argument breaks them apart it doesn't take them long to regret it.
The thing is, I never said wrote that Iris was not friendly to Ash and Cilan. Instead, I believe they were close to each other, and there were times that Iris went to a great extent in order to cheer for Ash (Virbank Gym, anyone?). After all, there is a difference between hostile and least friendly/most distant. I know that there have been many conflicts among the twerps, mainly between Ash and the girls - especially Misty, but, come on! This feels different! Iris went as far as abandoning her friends in the middle of nowhere and leaving everything behind, over a slight misunderstanding! Heck, if it had not rained, she would have probably left the gang for good. On the other hand, the one time Misty ran off in frustration, was because Ash was being a total dick to her (unintentionally), like everything they had been through meant nothing to him. Even then, she just needed some time alone, and she did not think about kissing their asses goodbye (she did not even take her bike with her ).
I repeat: Iris was by no means unfriendly and hostile towards her friends. It just felt that she was the most distant compared to the other twerps.
the Zorua you get that belonged to N (which also had a good nature and an almost perfect IV spread)
I have played Black 2, and, after doing some research, I came to the conclusion that N's Zorua is always a Hasty nature with 30 IVs in every stat (with the perfect being 31), which leads to Hidden Power Fighting with 70 base power.
Now, about Lucario. In my opinion, Lucario is a pretty cool Pokemon all around, and, most importantly, deserves all the fame it can get, unlike Charizard, who, until recently, got most if not all of its fame thanks to its design. Charizard has always been overrated, and the heart of the "lol u r a 'zard n00b, get gud" joke. Lucario, on the other hand, has amazing potential, and has been a pretty dependable and solid Pokemon, ever since its debut. It also has amazing personality characteristics, and this is why it feels awkward to me when I see a cheerful Lucario, like Korrina's. It is just like Mewtwo in Pokemon Amie! Like Don said, Lucario has had more than enough screentime so far, and this is why it would not be exactly great if Ash got one (Charizard and Pikachu are too much for him, anyway).
Zoroark's turn. I like everything about Zoroark, except for its lipstick. It has a great design, well-rounded stats, a nice Dark typing (Dark types really tend to get into me), an awesome movepool, and a trollish unique ability, which, like Die Lobsterguy said, is hindered by Team Preview. Fucking Team Preview, why did they have to add it? In my opinion, this is bullshit. Unfortunately, unlike Lucario, who shared a similar concept with it, Zoroark did not get the attention it deserved. It had a very limited distribution in Black and White, and, by the time Black and White 2 came out, the Generation had already come close to its end. The anime also left you wanting more of Zoroark.
Last, I noticed that nobody has called dibs on the "Breaking Titles at the Chateau!" episode! Does anyone want it, or shall I handle it myself?

Oh yeah, I noticed it in the last few episodes. It's kinda cute actually. Still, I hate how they change some of the most epic background music during battles, mainly Lysandre's theme. Ash and Grant's battle in the dub sounded much less epic without it.

So, who was in charge of writing the next guide? The Gym Battle episode was awesome, I'd like to discuss it soon in its own thread. We're also still missing a guide for the Battle Chateau episode as well.

Hey guys just wanted to post and apologize that I haven't put last week's episode up yet. I won't bore you with the details but basically the universe decided to give me the busiest schedule this week. I feel especially shitty about this since I promised the last time this happened that it wouldn't happen again, but I'll do my best to get it up by late Sunday.
Also haha am I up for those next five episodes already? Sheeeeeeeeiiiit.
Ryu Taylor, Dub Lover: Sorry, it's just that after SM021 and M21, I know Mima's gonna be three for three when it comes to terribly mishandling emotional moments.
Feb 9, 2019 18:50:46 GMT -4
Donkarasu: But at least you're fine with episode 79, because you've never said anything about it.
Feb 9, 2019 19:02:38 GMT -4
Ryu Taylor, Dub Lover: That was a lucky case of not bad but the dub did better.
Feb 9, 2019 19:09:02 GMT -4
Donkarasu: Masafumi Mima said he got goosebumps when selecting the music for a certain episode and even the voice actors were brought to tears, I'm certain it was indeed episode 108 that he was talking about: twitter.com/Sunma47/status/1073896011758587909
Feb 9, 2019 19:12:11 GMT -4
Ryu Taylor, Dub Lover: That's fine and good for them. Mima's just unfortunately given me lots of reasons not to trust his music placement skills (actually, lack thereof).
Feb 9, 2019 22:39:49 GMT -4
Ryu Taylor, Dub Lover: Looks like I'm right not to have believed him when he promised I'd cry at the onscreen events. But I can give him a bit of credit: it turned out better than SM021 and M21 did, so that's a relief.
Feb 10, 2019 10:26:25 GMT -4
Ryu Taylor, Dub Lover: It ended up with the same results SM079JP did: a "well, okay, that happened. Can't wait for the dub to improve it" kind of feeling.
Feb 10, 2019 10:27:06 GMT -4
Ryu Taylor, Dub Lover: BTW, I watched it in the first place just because of how cocky Mima was about it.
Feb 10, 2019 18:07:31 GMT -4
Donkarasu: I'm just going to say it now: I will not be happy when TPCI fills the silent moments with music. Silence is needed especially in tear-jerking episodes as it helps set the mood for a depressing atmosphere (it's hard to describe, so I tried my best).
Feb 11, 2019 5:46:51 GMT -4
Donkarasu: It's more Reina Ueda's voice acting as Mao (I can't believe anyone who thinks she wasn't amazing) and the dialogue and less so the background music used which makes those scenes so heart breaking and caused me and others to cry or tear up.
Feb 12, 2019 10:04:15 GMT -4
Donkarasu: While I said I wasn't going to talk about the whole controversy around Vic Mignogna, I do want to say one thing about it and that's, it kind puts me off anything to do with Funimation, especially due to other voice actors being involved in this.
Feb 17, 2019 8:44:25 GMT -4
ShiningStarlia: That is my biggest grief behind it. They honestly shouldn't of said anything at all, rather than outright lashing at fans that disagree with them.
Feb 17, 2019 19:44:19 GMT -4
Donkarasu: Regarding Sean Schemmel being the latest person to be a part of it, that causes me to say this: Even if you're not a fan of Masako Nozawa's Goku voice, at least she's a kind woman who respects fans and has never caused any sort of controversy.
Feb 18, 2019 13:03:11 GMT -4
Donkarasu: And for the record, this is not the only time Schemmel did/said something which caused some outrage.
Feb 18, 2019 13:04:46 GMT -4
ShiningStarlia: Yeah, I'm aware. His past sins have come to light and while I was able to tolerate a lot of it, his latest episode was were the line in the sand has been crossed. Cancelled Funimation account as well.
Feb 18, 2019 23:00:57 GMT -4
ShiningStarlia: If he's gonna be an arrogant butt that insults the hands that feed him, then he'll have to accept the consequences of it and hopefully that'll stick. Still yeah. I was never annoyed with Nozawa's Goku voice and she is really nice.
Feb 18, 2019 23:03:51 GMT -4
ShiningStarlia: I mean, Goku's supposed to sound like a disrespectful county hic (remember his inspiration from Journey of the West which the Monkey King routinely pissed off the gods)
Feb 18, 2019 23:05:54 GMT -4
ShiningStarlia: and I think most complaints stem from just different tastes in vocals from us overseas. I honestly wonder why people make a really big deal out of it. Not everyone is Norio Wakamoto
