868: Miare Jimu Sen! Satoshi VS Shitoron!!
862: The Moment of Lumiose Truth!
Back in Lumiose City, it's time for Ash's Gym Battle says the narrator.
Yeah, sure. Heard that before buddy, I'll believe it when I see it. Fool me once, shame on you, and so on.
Ash and Clemont walk into the room and it looks like it's time for...
Until, I don't know Nurse Joy barges in with a dead Raticate or something for the twerps to look over.
Serena lets all her Pokémon out and tells them they must cheer for both Ash and Clemont, which is kind of shitty.
Anyway, Meyer shows up, because he wants to see his son Gym Lead, because it doesn't happen quite often, since he gave the gym to his Robot, who he apparently isn't in charge of the actions of.
Clemont delegates refereeing duties to Clembot, and it's voice sounds like it's hitting puberty? Maybe this'll be the distraction that prevents this gym battle.
Wait... no, despite the malfunction-y voice, the battle is still starting.
Clemont sends in Bunnelby, and Ash sends in Pikachu.
Anybody at the door? Come on in now distraction, don't drag it out any longer than you're going to, let's get this over with.
Nothing?
Is this the actual Gym battle?
It's seems so because Pikachu just used Thunderbolt, and Bunnelby blocked it by making a dust cloud with it's ears, and then Digging.
I'm impressed, not only is the battle actually happening, but I think Ash also finally figured out the biggest secret of the Pokémon Universe, being that Dig usually leads to the Digging Pokémon being directly under the opposing Pokémon instead of the usual counter-Dig strategy of asking "WHERE COULD HE BE? WHERE COULD HE BE?" and has Pikachu run so he can't track him.
Bunnelby comes out and knocks Pikachu back in mid-air as Bonnie notices something.
Pikachu comes back with a Quick Attack and Bunnelby hits back with a Double-Slap, before catching Pikachu's Iron Tail with his Ear Paws.
Serena is amazed as Bonnie remembers that she wasn't there then, and Ash and Clemont are using the exact same moves they used back when they first met.
Seems a bit weird they're using the EXACT same moves, but, it works. Anyway, now that that's out of the way, the next move is Electro Ball from Pikachu, but Clemont decides that now of all times it's time to actually counter the move he knows Ash is going to do next.
Clemont surprises Ash with Bunnelby's new move, Wild Charge! knocking Pikachu out of it's Paw-Ears and Digs immediately afterwards. Despite JUST countering Dig, Ash this time decides to stay still as Bunnelby shoots from underneath Pikachu drilling it in the stomach. Meyer, taking on the role of Brock, tells the other twerps that Clemont used Dig to avoid Bunnelby taking extra damage, because Wild Charge causes Recoil.
But you knew that already.
For Clemont, he wants to bring out the best in all his challengers, which is a weird thing to say as he doesn't take many these days, but I'll give it to him that he means when he eventually goes back to Gym Leading full time.
Ash goes for another Quick Attack, that Bunnelby counters with Dig, that Pikachu counters by Iron tailing the ground, flushing it out, and then Iron Tailing Bunnelby, knocking it out.
And Bunnelby is unable to battle!
Ash is up 1-0, and Clemont sends in Heliolisk, so Ash "recalls" Pikachu and sends in Goodra. They start with Goodra shooting off a Dragon Pulse, that Heliolisk dodges by running really fast. It then Flashes Goodra and Heliolisk's sudden perverted display of nudity causes Goodra to stop in it's tracks, and Heliolisk Dragon Tails it right in the Stomach.
Goodra's first real battle isn't going too hot, as Ash has it use Dragon Pulse again, but the second verse is the same as the first as Heliolisk manages to avoid it then hits it with a ThunderWave paralyzing it.
Ash has no choice but to recall Goodra, and send in its stead the former Forest Heavyweight Champion who's taken a bit of a tumble down the Card as he looks to grab one of Vince McMahon's imaginary Brass Rings and show that he can draw money and Main Event.
Hawlucha manages to hit Heliolisk with a Karate Chop before it can paralyze it as well, as Brock Myer explains that Heliolisk is also a Normal-type, which means Fighting-type moves are Super Effective against it.
Heliolisk is still able to battle, so Clemont has it use Parabolic Charge, that Meyer now notes heals Heliolisk as well as damages it's opponent.
Hawlucha goes for a Flying Press as Heliolisk Flashes again, allowing sexual deviant Heliolisk to go for another Parabolic Charge, however Ash finds an opening, somehow, and as Clemont goes for another Flash he has Hawlucha hit a Hi Jump Kick right in it's face knocking out Heliolisk, putting Ash up 2-0.
Hmm, maybe Clemont should have trained more.
Clemont asks for an explanation of how Ash was able to defeat Heliolisk and he announces that the tiny second in which Heliolisk stopped moving to attack was exactly what he needed to get off the Hi Jump Kick for the win.
Welp, Clemont's down to his last Pokémon, and that means it's time to save the best for last. I think we all know who it's going to be. the one of two Pokémon who have been left behind to protect the Gym in it's trainers absence. That's right, Clemont's Third and final Pokémon is Magne-Luxray...
FUCK EVERYTHING!
*ahem* That's right, it's Luxray, and no I'm not mad... I'm so excited it's not Magneton. I fucking hate Magneton and definitely didn't want to see it in a Gym battle. Nope, definitely don't want to see it get screen time since it never gets any significant showing, and doesn't get to do the one most important battle of it's life with it's actual trainer, and not a lifeless automaton.
*ahem* So, Luxray's first move is Electric Terrain, the move it used previously in the Power Plant, that powers up Electric-type attacks. Luxray blocks a Hi Jump Kick with a Wild Charge knocking out Hawlucha and putting it back on the jobbers list.
It's 2-1, and now Ash has to send in another of his troops. With Electric Terrain, who would Ash send in but his level 9 Quadrillion Pikachu to win the battle.
Ash starts with a Thunderbolt, that Luxray bites into with Thunderfang, before firing off another Wild Charge landing a direct hit on Pikachu knocking the electric rodent back. It then leaps up and launches a Swift, that Pikachu knocks back with Iron Tail.
Pikachu then gets another face full of Wild Charge and is unable to battle.
The score is now even at 2-2, and Clemont is conflicted over gatekeeping his friend from his next badge, as Ash sends in his last Pokémon, the still paralyzed Goodra.
Ash then figures a way to make the field "work for him" and has Goodra use Rain Dance activating his special ability, Hydration which heals Goodra of it's Paralysis.
Clemont then realizing that carefully laying plans to beat Ash won't work, decides to play it by ear, and sends in Luxray with another Swift, that Goodra knocks back with it's tail. Clemont then has Luxray Thunderfang, while Goodra bides.
Clemont then tries to brute force it and Wild Charges, followed by a Swift.
Ash lamenting that the battle can't continue, allows Goodra to release it load all over Luxray... knocking it out. Giving the win to Ash.
Ash won the battle and now celebrates with Pikachu and Goodra as Clemont prepares to give him his badge. The Voltage Badge. Not to be confused with the Volt Badge, of course.
Ash celebrates in his traditional way, but only with Pikachu because the others aren't allowed to intrude on tradition.
This is now Ash's Fifth Badge, and he has no clue where to get his Sixth, until Serena helpfully suggest that they might as well go to the Laverre City Gym, because hey why not?
Clemont then decides he's going to continue to travel with ash, because they need him, even though everyone including Bonnie in the interim when he left them pretty much told him multiple times how they didn't need him.
Oh well, might as well force your way back into your friends lives, before they realize fully how much they don't really need you, and never talk to you again. We've all been there.
Thus Clemont continues to leave the lives of Magneton and Heliolisk in the hands of his automaton Clembot as the Journey for Clemont and the rest of the twerps is...
