867:Miare Shiti Sōsasen! Shitoroido tai Burakku Shitoroido!!
861: Confronting the Darkness!
The twerps have finally made it to Lumiose City, even though they totally could've helicoptered there. Either way, they meet back up with Clemont, and Bonnie tells him of all the "nice girls" she met for him, and tells of how he's become completely obsolete after abandoning them, because now Serena can tuck her in to sleep instead of him.
Well, Ash doesn't care about Bonnie's nighttime habits, because he's ready to battle, he had to wait extra long to get to Lumiose, so he's not looking for ANY distractions this time, he's ready to get it on. But not before showing Clemont his newly evolved Goodra, which is interesting, because he totally could have saved that as a surprise for his Gym battle, and left Clemont...
Inside the Lumiose Gym, we are really about to go straight into the battle, no bullshit, no distractions, they're getting right down to brass tacks, here. Clembot sets to begin the match... then Officer Jenny barges into the gym, without a warrant.
No!
She walks to Clemont and starts asking questions like "You're Clemont", and "That must be Clembot".
NO!
Before walking to Clembot, showing it some paper with gibberish scribbled on it, and announces he's under arrest.
FUUUUUUCCCK!
At the police Station, Clembot is sitting behind bars claiming his innocence.
Later Jenny shows the pictures of stuff such as a Hotel missing a star, and a bunch of mannequins that had been flipped upside down, and stripped to their bikinis
OOOHHHH!
What this has to do with Clembot though, you may wonder? According to Jenny surveillance video shows Clembot at the scenes of these crimes (Well, I'm not entirely sure the second one is a crime, mostly a nuisance, a very weird nuisance)
Clemont has Jenny zoom in closer to the robot seen crouching in one of the pics, and immediately claims that Clembot has a dent in the top of it's head, and thus proving it's innocence. It's shaky at best, but could easily be proven by looking at Clembot's head, in the other room. Also, bizarrely enough, Clembot's head has a cowlick in the shape of Clemont's as this other robot has a straight spike, which is much more easily proven than some vague dent.
Clemont claims he's been with Clembot the entire time, and Jenny dismisses it because an alibi from a friend is "not reliable", which I'm pretty sure is untrue. It won't get him out of jail sure, but they still have to take every bit of witness testimony they can, and she's not a judge and can't legally determine what is or isn't reliable. Granted, taking testimony means more paper work for her, and she'll be goddamned if she has to do work, too.
So, the twerps stalk off all depressed as they must now prove it's innocence. Outside the Police station they meet up with Meyer, who somehow already knows that Clembot has been arrested, and who else should show up but Alexa.
Clemont fills the two in and Alexa claims she already knows that wasn't Clembot, well that was quick - maybe Alexa should be running the police force. Alexa figures that "the man in the Blaziken Mask" is involved and trying to get to the bottom of this, too. Meyer makes himself SUPER OBVIOUS, as Alexa and Ash continue to talk about him.
Alexa figures they'd need Blueprints to make a robot similar to Clembot, which doesn't seem entirely true.
Clemont and the twerps, minus Meyer and Alexa go back to Prism tower, and somehow discover that the computer was hacked, and Clemont traces the source of the hacking to robotics department of Lumiose University, where he finds Clembot's blueprints and operating system.
They also discover that it's next hit is Lumiose museum, and Clemont also finds the name "Belmondo", and wonders if that's a name, because it doesn't sound like one to me.
At the museum, a guy, who I assume to be "Belmondo" instructs "Dark Clembot" to do this with a kick, as he shoots a Pokéball out of it's arm releasing a Magneton (YAY!) .
And hey, who should be here, but... Team Rocket! They want to steal the stuff, and turn their attention to Clembot, because, hey why not.
Back at the Police Station, they show Officer Jenny what they've found and even bring up the name "Belmondo", he's apparently a Robotics Researcher, as she looks him up, Clemont ALSO mentions that he found the floor plans for the Electronics Warehouse, and she mentions that another incident took place their, which should probably help prove Clembot's innocence, apparently shit's all fucked up there, and the electronics were all burned. Clemont then insists that Jenny release Clembot on the grounds that this exonerates him, and to fully convince her he tells her that the only one who can stop this fake Clembot is real Clembot, and she knows that, likely a jab at her being so shit at her job.
She acquiesces and releases Clembot, because that's totally how it works.
Later at the museum, Jenny and the twerps set up an ambush as Belmondo comes as it's time to work. Before they can start however, Clembot FROM OUTTA NOWHERE knocks Dark Clembot on it's robot's equivalent of... wait, I used that already.
The twerps come out and confront Belmondo, as Officer Jenny is suspiciously absent. Belmondo's plans are simple... and super weird. He wants to specifically frame Clembot of crimes it hasn't done.
He's super evil, and apparently wants to prove to the world that he's the best roboter ever. He monologues that Clembot is not complete, and goddammit he created robot perfection, the greatest robot that has ever been built.
His excruciatingly dumb plan also featured at some point Dark Clembot taking down real Clembot and proving himself to be the hero, because he apparently didn't anticipate Jenny just straight up locking the rather docile Clembot up.
I feel like there's a better way he could have gone about showing his robot is the greatest, like building his own robot from scratch.
Belmondo then decides that to prove that his robot is greatest their is... they'll have a Pokémon battle.
What? I mean, I shouldn't be surprised, honestly, but what?
Clemont is SOOOOO pissed he says he'll take him on, mere seconds before pressing Clembot into the fight for him.
Dark Clembot sends in Magneton (WOO! GO DARK CLEMBOT!) against Heliolisk (eh). Magneton starts with Thundershock, and Heliolisk dodges as Magneton uses Electro Ball, which is countered with Dragon Tail. Magneton powers through and Tackles the Electro Ball, and then Heliolisk out of the sky.
Which is a really crap battle strategy.
Jenny finally shows up to arrest Belmondo, as Magneton blasts a Flash Cannon at Heliolisk who dodges and uses Parabolic Charge, who takes the move and then Tackles Heliolisk into the ground.
Dark Clemont chides Magneton for being too slow (fuck you, buddy) as Clemont tells to Belmondo he's already lost because his robot doesn't give a shit about Magneton, whereas all it cares about is winning, unlike Clembot while being a soulless automaton.
But Belmondo don't care about that, the only thing that matters to him is winning. Clemont then bloviates about how his robot cares more about his Pokémon's well-being, and while we have all heard this, it feels kind of forced when talking about a robot.
Ash agrees however, and tells Belmondo to give up, because he "lost" though, because someone who went through the trouble of hacking Clemont's computer and rebuilding it was totally going to quit after a few flowery words.
Suddenly Clembot and Dark Clembot start freaking out, why, what's with Clembot?
"What's with Clembot, is what's with us!"
"We've got a big magnet, and that's a plus!"
"To protect the world from devastation!"
"To unite all people within our nation!"
To denounce the evils of no attraction!"
To extend our reach with magnetic action!"
"Jesse!"
"and James!"
"Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light!"
"Surrender now or prepare for an isotropic fight!"
"Meowth, that's right!"
Before they can get too far however, they're attacked by Blaziken Mask... and sent blasting off again.
Well, thanks for stopping by guys.
Anyway, Officer Jenny - who you may have forgotten was here - finally starts to do her job, and Clemont actively obstructs her from doing so.
If she weren't so lazy, she'd have a case to arrest him too now. But she ain't going to do extra work.
Anyway, Belmondo and Clemont continue their battle, which makes you wonder why Belmondo didn't just run away while Clemont was wasting time battling his robot. I know what I just said about him "just giving up", but Ash doesn't have the authority to arrest him.
Belmondo, now using Magnezone, continues his battle style of charging forth regardless of the toll it takes on his Pokémon, and loses, for real this time.
Jenny arrests Belmondo, and Blaziken Mask actively informs Ash and Clemont that he knows Ash has a Gym Battle. Fortunately for Meyer, these kids are really dumb.
Back at Meyer's house the next morning the twerps have breakfast and read Alexa's article about Clembot being innocent. Apparently he gets "full honors", whatever that means.
Anyway nevermind that shit, because today's the day of Ash's Gym battle...
Next Week.
