The guys at Pokemon have never really given a shit about "lore" or "history" or "elaborating on pieces of the game that mostly go unexplained leaving the player to wonder what the fuck they forgot to finish here", so I don't see why they would now.

No wait, it's simple: Any character who knows about Mega Evolution outside of Kalos must have gone to the Kalos region and found out about it there.
Mr. Fuji in Pokémon Origins and Steven Stone in ORAS are two of these people and then they took something Mega Evolution-connected back with them.
Now onto something else; I think Primal Kyogre looks cooler than Primal Groudon, I love how it looks like it's see-through. Heck, I like Kyogre more anyway.

I'm super hyped for Super Secret Bases. I love how it basically gives you your own little unofficial Gym to run.
Everyone in mine is going to have a Contrary Rest-Talking Shuckle with Shell Smash and no one can do anything about it.

Super Secret Bases sound fun and Mega Metagross looks pretty cool. Let's just hope that its Ability won't be Magic Bounce, because that would make it the fourth Mega Pokémon with Magic Bounce. I've seen some speculation about Tough Claws, Filter and Levitate, but personally I hope it won't get any of those Abilities because they all would make it quite OP.
As for the Hoenn character redesigns, I like them. Steven and Sidney look almost the same as before, Phoebe looks exactly the same as before, Roxanne looks more like a school teacher now, Brawly's rocking those goggles, Wattson's jumpsuit/Hawaiian shirt combo cracks me up, Flannery looks just as lovely as ever and Norman has short sleeves. Nothing too radical and that's the way I like it. I just wonder how come they didn't change anything about Phoebe at all.
Also, those Pikachu look hilarious and all, but I really don't see the point of dressing up your Pokémon in actual clothes for Contests. Wouldn't that make performing moves more difficult and distract the audience from what's really important? That's the impression the anime has always given us, after all.
