Last season ended with the Twerps in the middle of nowhere dragging their corpses ever slowly to Coumarine City. This season begins with the twerps dragging their corpses ever slowly to Coumarine City... but a non-corporeal man explains why, you see You're just a kid on a quest! To be the best of the best! Someday you're destined for power and glory! You know you're up to the test! There's only one way to tell this story!
Be a Hero! Be a Hero! All the power is at your command! Face your fears and show you're a hero! The future of the world is in your hand!
Pokémon!
For some reason I feel as if I've advanced so far, but still there's always more to come.
Well, anyway, as I mentioned the twerps have stopped in the middle of nowhere, and are stuffing their faces with food. Serena wants to give the Pokémon some of her Poképuffs, but of course Chespin was first to the punch.
The twerps are resigned to their running gag, but Pancham who's new to the group is a bit more confrontational. Chespin tries to calm the air by shrugging and going "Eh, it is what it is", as Pancham punches it in the face. They then have an adorable little squabble as Serena and Clemont yell at them.
The twerps pull them aside and Serena admonishes them for fighting (but not Chespin for eating the Poképuffs for the thousandth time, in the first place) this doesn't go over well as they continue to fight, Clemont tells them they're just being mean to each other as they still continue to fight, through the miracle of recycled animation.
Chespin then runs off and tells Pancham to kiss it's ass, a call back to the time Pancham told Chespin to kiss it's ass.
Pancham's not going to be mocked by it's own mockery, and they both leap into a bush and dive right into a Farfetch'd's asshole.
Their mean looking bitch of a trainer who happens to be wearing a tiny little hat reads Clemont and Serena the Riot Act for Tackling FarFetch'd's ass, and gets ready to go back to training for the Pokémon Showcase, until Serena let's it known that she's planning on entering the show.
Woah, looks like she's excited now that they're on the...
Well, Tiny Hat seems much nicer now that she knows Serena is also (possibly) entering the Showcase as well, and wants someone to help give her feedback, as this is her first time as well. Serena's not too sure since she doesn't think she knows enough to be telling anyone else what to do with their performance, but new girl tells her "don't worry about it", and apparently that waylays Serena's concerns.
Serena scans her Smoochum and Farfetch'd as it hold it's onion near it's crotch.
Tiny Hat starts her performance, first with Smoochum using Powder Snow (as opposed to some other kind of snow) creating a cloud dropping snow all over them, then Farfetch'd throws it's onion in the air, and breaks up the cloud, as sparkles fall over the girl, and Farfetch'd falls and tumbles over her back. Smoochum and Farfetch'd then line up as she cartwheels over their backs, while her dress manages to not show anyone the goods. Smoochum then uses Heart Stamp, followed by Farfetch'd cutting it up with Fury Cutter into a million little pieces.
The twerps applaud her as she reveals that the theme of her performance is "Heartbreak", then asks for honest criticism. She seems to take their feedback well, despite them being novices too, then asks to see Serena's performance.
Serena's not really finished with it, and is a bit nervous about showing it, an her friends don't back her up and instead peer-pressure her into doing it. So, she has no choice, however before they can start anything, Chespin headbutts Pancham out of the way, then they have another adorable fight.
Serena takes this to mean that Chespin wants to be in the performance too, which gives Clemont an idea, which makes Chespin shit itself in horror.
The future is now, and the futures is...
OH GOD, KILL IT!
It grabs Chespin and they have the most uncomfortable dance ever, as Ash is in awe of how amazing Science is so.
Eventually it begins slamming Chespin, and throwing him to the ground before finally exploding, with Pancham taking clear delight in Chespin's pain.
Well, now that the comedy's over, it's time for Serena's performance. it starts with the Pokémon jumping into Serena's arms a she throws them in the air, as Fenenkin uses Flamethrower, and Pancham tumbles down back to Earth through it.
From afar we see Team Rocket, who's contracts have also been renewed for the New Season, and they're spying their Showcae practice, Jess could give a fuck because she just KNOWS she's going to win, but something does catch her eye...Smoochum.
She's still in love with Smoochum, and lays out the plan. Catch Smoochum, then win the Showcase. Pikachu will come some time later.
Also, this happens!
Back at the Serena's performance, Pancham blasts Dark Pulse into the air as Fennekin surrounds it with Flamethrower and it explodes into the air, and cascades down as fireworks.
Tiny Hat then adds her two cents saying she doesn't feel Pancham's acrobatics fit with the rest of the performance, and Clemont agrees.
Meanwhile, Smoochum walks over to Pancham and backs that ass up, making Pancham kind of nervous. Tiny Hat thinks they make a cute couple, with some interesting framing of Ash and Serena being the only two twerps on the screen. Tiny Hat thinks they should dance together, and they do as Chespin and Farfetch'd look on as the saddest Freindzoned losers in the world.
They first start off doing their own things, and eventually start coordinating their moves, and eventually start break dancing. The twerps all applaud them as Tiny Hat has a great idea, why not trade Pancham for one of her Pokémon. Pancham doesn't seem to cotton to the idea, but Chespin is loving it, and so is Smoochum, but for obviously different reasons, and Farfetch'd has a goddamn heart attack over the suggestion.
Chespin pushes Pancham towards Tiny Hat before Serena officially answers. She turns her down (also revealing her name, Nini) mostly because Pancham is the first Pokémon Serena ever caught. Basically the same reason Ash used to get back Butterfree all those years... months ago.
Just then a car speeds up out of nowhere and three people jump out, one clearly suffers from Dwarfism, and Furism. The blue-haired man introduces them to La Grand Dame Brûlée, you know what, let's just call her "Jesse" for shits and giggles.
According to the blue-haired man, "Jesse" has choreographed countless performances and created dozens of queens.
Nini asks for her help, and the blue-haired man insists that "Jesse" isn't cheap, until she interrupts and announces that she's free.
There's a joke in there somewhere.
The Pokémon are lined up and "Jesse" walks down until stopping on Smoochum and hugging it, and squeezing it, and loving it and having to be reminded of the choreography.
She tells them that they have to use whatever moves they use with style, while shaking her ass at the camera.
At this time Pancham takes notice of Chespin standing in the line-up, because apparently it wants to learn, too.
"Jesse" begins her lesson and has them kick up their legs, Fennekin has a bit of an unfair advantage, since it only uses it's front legs, then she has the twist their bodies, which includes scenes where Farfetch'd almost knocks Smoochum's block off.
After "Jesse" herself works up a sweat she has the blue-haired man bring in an inflatable balloon for them to dance in claiming it makes their movements more economical. The twerps buy it and the Pokémon walk right on in, then they close the balloon trapping the Pokémon inside. Serena is shocked, because she thought they were learning a lesson, and the three people then remove their clothes, and begin their motto.
"Prepare for trouble, a lesson it is!"
"And make it double, you're in the wrong biz!"
"To protect the world from devastation!"
"To unite all people within our nation!"
"To denounce the evils of two left feet!"
"Face it, our footwork is frightfully neat!"
"Jesse!"
"and James!"
"Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light!"
"Surrender now or prepare for a Footloose fight!"
"Meowth, that's right!"
It's Team Rocket, and I guess that means "Jesse" was really Jesse.
Team Rocket then call the Meowth balloon and slowly escape as Jesse hangs around to gloat.
The twerps then chase them and ask them to give each of their individual Pokémon back. Meowth must have misheard this, and instead gives the twerps an exploding smokescreen.
As Team Rocket makes off, Pancham and Chespin continue to adorably slap fight in the balloon, eventually dislodging it and crashing them in the middle of nowhere.
Farfetch'd uses it's onion as a divining rod and decides they should follow it. Chespin and Pancham fight over who should go first, until Fennekin takes the initiative and goes ahead. Not wanting to be shown up by a girl, then follow behind and find an Inkay happily floating along. The Inkay rushes off and Pancham chases it.
turns out it wasn't just a wild Inkay floating along in a forest with no water, it was James' Inkay, and Team Rocket has been lead back to the twerps' Pokémon.
Chespin and Pancham then have a fight over which one of them is going to protect their friends, Team Rocket look on exasperated, as James orders a desultory Psybeam. Chespin and Pancham dodge Psybeam with just enough time to allow it to hit Farfetch'd and Smoochum.
Pumpkaboo then takes out Fennekin with Shadow Ball, as Chespin and Pancham remember the admonishing they got in the beginning of the episode.
They then prepare to fight together, as Pumpkaboo blasts a Dark Pulse at them, they dodge, and Pumpkaboo throws an Arm Thrust at it, it misses, but distracts Pumpkaboo long enough for it to land a Pin Missile on it's back.
They then take out Inkay by Pancham throwing Chespin into the air, and it using Vine Whip. It appears to miss, until the vines wrap around the trees, and it uses them to slingshot itself at Inkay, knocking it down.
The two recover, as James calls for a Psybeam, it launches it at the still airborne (somehow) Chespin, but Pancham saves it with Dark Pulse. Pumpkaboo blasts Leech Seed at Pancham, that Chespin destroys with Vine Whip, and at that moment the twerps appear.
Team Rocket are devastated, as Jesse has Pumpkaboo blast multiple Shadow Balls at them, and they dodge them, and Pancham throws Chespin back into the air, and it grabs them with it's Vine Whip and throws it around into Pancham's Dark Pulse.
the twerps are so excited, and takes the reigns and have Pancham and Chespin hit them with Dark Pulse and Pin Missile sending them into Team Rocket, and Ash finishes the job with Thunderbolt from Pikachu.
Nini and her tiny hat are so glad everyone's OK, and the twerps congratulate them, as they start fighting again.
Ash has a profound moment and says that fighting alot just proves they're great friends, just like him and Misty, which is a thing he'd say if he remembered who Misty was.
Serena and Nini from a hart wiff their handz, as Shauna tosses her television out of the window, and they have happy words over Serena joining a Showcase son, so she can beat her. As Nini walks off, she tells Fennekin and Pancham they'll keep practicing then enter the showcase for reals, as the story is...
