Hello and welcome to our half-dead little forum, Aotrs Commander. I like you already because I agree with many things you said and I hope you'll forgive our guide writers for not writing the majority of XYZ's guides yet. I'm not sure if they'll ever get those done, but there are some other things to talk about here, like Sun & Moon news and the Japanese version of the show. I used to be much more active here myself as well, but now I only log in whenever I feel like it. Anyway, I hope you'll like it here!
P.S. It was actually never said that it had only been a year between the beginning of MLP FiM and the premiere of season four (I assume you meant four, not five). Some people just made that ridiculous assumption for some reason even though there had been two winter episodes between those two premieres. These days there have been five winter episodes in MLP FiM, but nobody seems to have grown at all, including baby ponies, so presumably the MLP characters are cursed with the same immortality as the characters of Pokémon. We just have to accept it.

Where it basically came up was in season 5 in Tanks for the Memory, when RD said that this would be her first winter with Tank (and quite a few other bits in season 5 - like running of the leaves and the summer sun celebration whatnot) that basically meant that the entire of the the season prior to that had to have taken place in just over a year. Which was, in careful examination, within the parameters with some error margins. To my surprise. I mean, we sort of knew that MLP's first season episodes were sort of scatter-shot chronlogically anyway, but it seems that while the seasons roughly (ish) follow each other in broad strokes, they order they are in is... not so chronological. (My main forum of activity these days is the Giant in the Playground webcomic forum and principally its very long-running MLP thread, where this sort of thing has been heavily analysed - often by muggins, who likes to ruins everybody's days by using Maths and such. I once calculated (from the estimated-and-since-proved-accurate size of ponies and some basicvolme and density calcs), by the by, that never mind Earth ponies, ALL ponies have super-strength. From the Tom incident, the local seamstress and librarian (arguambly the least physically fit of the bunch) were carting around a boulder nearly the same size as them, which could have been up to 3-4.5 tons!) Rather like our dear Ash, who can effortless carry hundreds of poinrs of Pokémon around on his head and/or shoulders without missing a beat...! |

Welcome Trey, I hope you enjoy your stay here. Also I read your signature and I am glad to see a dub lover who at least respects the Japanese version.
No offence Ryu, but I think we would have gotten along a lot better if you weren't too harsh on the original. At least we won't get that from Trey... Right?

I suppose it has to do with how thoroughly the original betrayed my expectations (that its fans ironically were the ones who built up); for something so supposedly good that it's (by your own admission quoted above) literally your criterion for whether or not a fellow fan of the show can be friends with you, it sure didn't live up to its hype. Fortunately, it seems Trey wasn't similarly led on, so it doesn't seem likely he'll have any cause to criticize it so thoroughly. |

Well, maybe. I still don't like most of what the JP does, but I can at least see the approach they're going for. The Dub just tends to sound better to my ears 90 percent of the time. Besides, I tend to prefer most if not some other anime in English because it's my native language and I can forgive Dubs as long as I can see what they're going for, the Japanese is the same thing.

Once you get used to the new voices, it can be quite fun to watch, don't like Team Rocket much though
