I'm surprise that there's a movie and a video game discussion thread, but no anime thread. UNTIL NAO!
Anyway... Let's talk about anime!
Other than watching half of Toonami (Attack On Titan... Again, Space Dandy, One Piece, Blue Exorcist, Black Lagoon, and Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood for like... The third time, if I'm still awake by then) I've been watching "Another" with my boyfriend. I'm also watching Attack On Titan for a third time every week because my boyfriend always has to work during AOT when it's on. >>
The last anime I've finished was "Midori Days..." I think. Either that, or "Future Diary."
I'm thinking about watching "Berserk" by myself, since I've just finished watching "Best Friends Play Berserk: Gut's..." Something or another, but I don't want to read the hundreds of chapters of the manga, so I'm hoping that, if I do watch the anime, it's not gonna end with "READ THE MANGA" like AOT does. (It doesn't literally. It ends on a cliff-hanger, so it might as well have.)

Outside of Toonami, I've watched Chaika - Coffin Princess which managed to result in these two gifs.   But, for a shw with an interesting premise, the writing and such got really weird after like the first episode, but it was a sufficiently fine little adventure show. I'm eagerly awaiting Sailor Moon Crystal on Saturday, I've been anticipating it since 2012, when it was announced. But it's finally here, so hey. And maybe I'll check out something else, I don't know - I totally watch whatever random anime I can find. |

I've been reading a lot of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure lately.
I was neutral to parts 1 and 2, really. Just wanted to get to all the shit with the stands.
Part 3 wasn't bad but really dragged near the end.
So far part 4 is fucking amazing and I love it.

...Wow.
SO, HOW ABOUT THAT BOKU NO PICO?! I-I MEAN... Uh... Hetalia? Hetalia (with some help from Silent Hill) almost took me completely out of the Pokemon fandom by giving me fanfic idea after fanfic idea. But other than that, it's hilarious. Especially the dub.
...I can't find anything funny that would make any sense to anyone who haven't seen any of it.

So last night right before my shift at work ended I caught an episode of Space Dandy on Toonami and I thought it was pretty good. Then my relief (who's considerably older than I am) showed up like half an hour early and I got treated to an extra-awkward 20 minutes of him watching the TV from over my shoulder, it reminded me of when my dad would do the same when I was in grade school and stayed up late to watch anime on Adult Swim. At least my relief, unlike my Dad, didn't try to "get" the show I was watching.
"So is that guy supposed to be like Ash?"
"Yeah sure I guess dad"
"And is he supposed to be like Pikachu?"
"Yeah dad shut up can you please go"
"And are they supposed to be like Team Rocket?"
"DAD PLEASE YOU'RE BEING REALLY UN-SUGOI RIGHT NOW"

Jesus the season two premiere of Space Dandy was... Amazing. XD
That story reminded me of something, though. >w>
I was watching "Real Bout High School" with my boyfriend in my room, (this was like, years before we moved in together in our own place) and my dad spotted it and said "It's like sexy Pokemon."
Okay yeah sure dad. Sure.
Speaking of sexy, two new sexy female characters were shown on Black Lagoon last night. One of them reminds me of the Repo Man~!

Anyway, one thing I found funny about the Space Dandy premiere is seeing how many alternate versions of the crew Honey is a member of, which reminds me when the show first premiered people were crying over a line change from the English and Japanese versions because they thought Honey was going to be an important character. |

Nope.  I'm honestly glad that Honey doesn't have a bigger role than she does. I think Prandy!Dandy's supposed to be a better alien hunter than Dandy!Dandy, maybe? I dunno. Most people, at least the people who liveblogs Toonami on Tumblr, was a little bit afraid that it was gonna be all emo!Dandy, for now on. XD ...The episode that they showed to... Last night, was a little sad... |

Yep, a whole new season! Oh, and on new seasons... Persona 4 Golden: The Animation is now going on. It's based on the game of the same name, the expansion to the excellent Persona 4. It's more of a collection of scenes taken from the game than a full-on retelling, though there are some differences: first off there's Marie, and certain scenes are different, like how Yu's initial interaction with King Moron went and the first fight. These things kind of hint at that {Spoiler}
Yu in a New Game+ instead of a regular new game; seen in how he steps into the TV world instead of being pulled in and absolutely steamrolls the enemies in the first fight with attacks that you only get late in the game. |

I had trouble with the final boss, and then I got Assassin's Creed III in the middle of me playing it, and I was moving out of my dad's place in the middle of THAT. ...I should start playing it again, though... But we got a Wii U and a PS4... But anyway! I just got done liveblogging Toonami on Tumblr, and damn. I don't watch slow anime that's the same every episode (Bleach and Naruto...) but Blue Exorcist is going way too FAST right now! I know that it's almost done, but DAMN! CALM YOUR DEMON TITS, BLUE EXORCIST! ...I also started Clannad on my own~! I like it, but it's fucking saaaad... |

So yesterday I sat down and watched FLCL. I have a lot of fond memories of watching it on Adult Swim back when I was 11 and still going through my weeaboo phase. Back then for me and my friends, Staying up to watch Adult Swim on Saturday nights was such a treat. We weren't aware of streaming sites or torrents or anything way back when, so the most exposure we got to anime was Dragonball Z reruns on Toonami and whatever they'd show on Kids WB. But this? Not only was this anime, this was the anime for ADULTS. They would say stuff like "damn" and "bitch" and sometimes a girl would take her top off. Even shit like InuYasha we would gobble up like pigeons with breadcrumbs (in fact, InuYasha was probably our favorite one). There was also a certain excitement to staying up late to watch something on TV that my parents weren't totally cool with that wasn't Howard Stern. It was quite easy to tell how different FLCL was to something like Pokemon, and watching it at that age was interesting, since I wasn't old enough to really "get" a lot of it, but I was old enough to want to. This was my first exposure to Gainax, too, and I would continue to remain clueless about them for several years after this. Unfortunately even though I watched it from the start I ended up missing the last episode back when it was airing, so I never finished it until yesterday.
Anyways I went off on a tangent there but the series is fantastic from the visuals to the music to the action to the plot of each episode and I would be so bold as to say it's almost perfect, if not more so. So if you haven't watched this shit already please go do it. And it's only six episodes long so you don't even need to invest a lot of time into it. Adult Swim even mentioned once in response to a fan email that FLCL was their favorite anime to air. That may not mean much now but this happened back when it did.
