So I never really mentioned this but just about every visual thing about this site was meant to be a placeholder until I was finished with my exams, and that was a month ago so the forum's long overdue for some major aesthetic changes.
Problem is I've got no clue where to start, so I'm opening the floor to suggestions about what to do with the place. Feel free to make requests, or contribute (but just make sure you don't take someone else's stuff and contribute it without their permission).
Right now, I think what we need to change the most are:
The site banner
The site background
The "New Reply" and "No New Reply" buttons
Maybe a different color scheme?
So if anyone has ideas for that stuff feel free to put it out there.
Also I'm thinking of removing the shoutbox at the bottom of the page, since no one's really using it. Thoughts on that?

I definitely say change the banner as I find that it has been outdated for a while when it was on the original forums.
And having new buttons would be nice too. I am not really good with ideas, so that all I have to say on this subject.

I like shoutboxes, so I think we should keep it. You don't have to agree with me, obviously. And yes, we definitely need a new banner, preferably some dodgy screenshot from the current XY series.

I've never really used the shoutbox, but find the idea of seeing new messages there every once in a while, kind of funny. I don't know.
Also, I like the color scheme actually.
I remember seeing an image I thought would make a great new banner... and then forgot it.

Ah, the banner. I recently came up with an idea, but I did not find the right place and time to post it. Here is my chance. Um, how's this (it may give the old Dodgers of the site nostalgic vibes)?  Pokemopolis
Because Pokemon is NOT a children's cartoon!.....Well, you could keep the shoutbox, unless it limits the forum's options and potential in some way (I am not an expert; I don't know). It would be fun knocking ourselves out, and send all of our education back where it came from every now and then. You could bring back the rest of the old site's smilies and emotes (that is, if you have them). Also, because sarcasm is often difficult to spot in written speech, I suggest you could add a sarcasm emote. That's it. I can not think of any more suggestions right now. If I come up with a new idea, I will let you know. |

When I started the forum I wanted to add a chatbox to the forum because I thought it would increase site traffic but I'm still not 100% sure if it actually qualifies as one, and the only chatbox plugin that was compatible with Proboards wouldn't stop making noise. Whatever, I wanted to get that out there. |

A new icon for the website tab. The current one is some bullshit I did in MS Paint the night I made the forum and it looks dumb. I was thinking use a Koffing for the icon but Smogon's got one of those already. |

You mean that the old site was updated once a year (except for the last three years)? Hey, I came up with an idea regarding the site's theme! Since Swampert is somewhat popular around here (Luke, SeriousJupiter and me), and you are obsessed with Quagsire, how about we make the forum's theme Water/Ground related? If it sounds good, can someone exploit the idea? |

I thought that we could try something new and be "original", blazing the trail drowning the poison with a Water/Ground mob, but right, Koffing works just fine. The fact that we are the only community who has Koffing as its mascot AND gives it some love helps as well. Smogon has Koffing as its mascot too, but they do not give a shit about the happiest Pokemon in the world. Nowadays, Smogon is all about Aegislash, Talonflame, Wash Rotom, Azumarill and friends.
