Yes, he did. Which is what I was getting at. No I mean, several years ago. Yes, he did. Which is what I was getting at. What I'm saying is the Nostalgia Critic has a really poor taste in films and he's dumb and that's that.

Does it count if you've watched a review of it? 'Cause... That's what I did. Yes, the best thing you can do, other than watch the movie itself, is to watch a review of it... Well, in this case, you did the right thing. Who is this Nostalgia Critic, anyway? I have not watched much of him; all I know is that he is popular for making movie reviews, criticising most of them. So, does he give good and valid reasons for criticising said movies, such as pointing out bad quality, awful lighting, lousy acting, and stupid script clichés, or does he just complain while using advanced video effects and funny scenario?

So, does he give good and valid reasons for criticising said movies, such as pointing out bad quality, awful lighting, lousy acting, and stupid script clichés, or does he just complain while using advanced video effects and funny scenario? I guess it depends on the movie. He points out all of those things, but sometimes I think that he should try seeing things in the writer's perspective, 'cause he'll point out the smallest thing that contradicts someone's action, and I'm just sitting here like, "I forgot about that, and I've actually seen the movie. I can't imagine the writer would remember writing a line so small." Though his review on the first Pokemon movie was funny. He got mad because they didn't explain anything to anyone who's not a fan, and I was just sitting there, answering his questions in short sentences while my brother was laughing and said "wow..." to me. Also, when he saw the 4Kids! logo, his first reaction was "THAT'S not a good sign..." Of course, later, three people who works for TGWTG reviewed the movies together... Or the... First three of them... Before it was just Suede... It was Linkara, Suede, and JewWario, and then it was just Suede... Well, I don't want to take this discussion to a depressing side, though I'm really sensitive about the subject of what happened... So fuck. I'm watery-eyed now... OH! But with the "writer's perspective" thing. I'm pretty sure he understands the rules of writing, but he doesn't know how hard getting from A to B can be.

The Amazing Spider-Man 3 has been delayed to 2018 as opposed to it's original release date of July 10, 2016. the Sinister Six movie is still set to air in it's original spot. This is noteworthy because it was supposed to take place ASM #3. www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=54268

So, I haven't seen Guardians of the Galaxy yet, but this is pretty much just Marvel slapping DC with their dick and going "You can't even make Superman right. We're making a movie about a property NO ONE cared about and it's expected to be a mega hit. Your move, fuckers."
Also today, August 1, is the same day in 1983(?) that the first Marvel movie, Howard the Duck, premiered.

I saw Guardians of the Galaxy yesterday and it was HILARIOUS. Much, much better than I expected and I didn't expect it to suck in the first place. Yeah, it was obviously just Marvel fucking with DC, but who cares, because it worked. I loved all the characters and the music was awesome. Some big name actors certainly didn't hurt either. Especially Karen Gillan was great. I'd only seen her before in Doctor Who, but it seems she has a knack for playing roles in science fiction. What's more, the Avengers/Thor movies' plot with Thanos and the Infinity Stones got advanced rather nicely. I've never read any other Marvel comics than Spider-Man, but the Marvel movies have made it perfectly clear what's the deal with those Stone things and now I know a little more about Thanos as well.
DC: I have a plan. Marvel: You have a plan? DC: I have about twelve percent of a plan. Marvel: *laughs hysterically*
Oh, and I also saw How To Train Your Dragon 2 a couple of weeks ago. It was okay. I probably would've enjoyed it more if I hadn't been forced to go see the Finnish dub.

So until next week they're doing a theatrical rerelease of Ghostbusters for its 30th anniversary (which was actually in June, but you really can't expect them to try and compete with early summer releases). It was a hell of a lot of fun to see it on the big screen for what will probably be the first, last and only time for me, and I saw a lot of little details I had never seen when watching the film before (like the Librarian ghost actually had pupils, which made her a lot more scary looking).
A real shame about the turnout, though. I went to the nearest theater that was doing a showing (which was like 20 miles away or something)and there was only me and about 10 other people. Maybe less. At least I didn't have to deal with the movie crowds that usually keep me away from the theater 99% of the time.

Speaking of Ghostbusters, I recently saw it for the first time in my life when I came across a cool sale on movies from the 80s. (I also bought Beetlejuice, E.T., Top Gun and The Goonies.) I know Ghostbusters is a cult classic and all, but quite honestly I wasn't impressed. The cheesy special effects didn't bother me because the movie was made in the 80s, but I really didn't like the two things that are vital in pretty much any movie - the acting and the story. Seriously. I assume the only reason why Ghostbusters is such a classic is because it's, please excuse the trope, "so bad it's good". Except that I didn't think it was good. Because it was bad. I hope I just didn't make powerful enemies here. Anyway, I liked Beetlejuice. It was hilarious.

I went to see Lucy a few weeks ago. I must assume that the only reason why I went to see it is the same reason why everybody who saw it went to see it - it had Scarlett Johansson and Morgan Freeman. The movie itself was nothing special.

I'm excited for the full version of COW-BOY, the magnum opus of old Pokemopolis alumnus Dr. Charizard

I saw Ace Ventura for the first time in my life a while ago. I don't know what I was expecting, but it left me kinda cold. Jim Carrey has always been one of my favorite actors, but I just didn't think that particular movie was as good as it was made out to be. I guess my lack of nostalgia goggles for it had something to do with it.
I also finally watched Top Gun, which I bought a few months ago. It was okay. Nothing more, nothing less.

Anyways, is anyone else going to be watching Dumb and Dumber To? I know I'm going to ask my uncles about it. (They're big fans of the first movie.)

SPOILERS AHEAD, IF YOU CARE ABOUT THAT.
I went to see The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies with my best friend last week. I knew Smaug would bite the dust early on, but it still happened sooner than I expected. The rest of the movie was pretty much just elves and dwarves measuring dicks and slaughtering Orcs. Oh, and then there was Sauron, Gandalf, Radagast, Saruman and Galadriel for about ten minutes and that was it. The love triangle between that elf chick, Kili and Legolas was completely pointless especially since everyone who'd read the book already knew Kili would die. Legolas didn't get the girl either, but he got to defy gravity and kill the Orc leader's son, so good for him! Oh, and guess who really saved the day in the end? Hint: It rhymes with beagles.
I could go on for much longer, but I don't think I'll bother. Long story short - the movie tried too hard to be as epic as the LotR trilogy and failed. There were good moments, but sadly I remember the bad ones much better. I'll probably still buy the DVD, but only when it's on sale at half price or something.

I guess you guys don't watch a lot of movies. Well, I've seen a few lately. I bought Divergent on DVD on a whim. I knew nothing about it beforehand and I'd never even heard of the actors playing the main roles, so I was curious. I liked it more than I thought I would. Some people say that it's just a bad copy of The Hunger Games, but since I've never read those books or seen the movies, I don't really care if it's true. Besides, it's pretty much impossible to come up with anything original these days, anyway. I'll probably go see the sequel when it comes out as well.
I also bought two old Disney classics recently, Pinocchio and The Jungle Book. The latter was one of my favorite movies as a kid, so it was very nostalgic to watch it again after, I dunno, fifteen years or so. Of course, I'd only seen the movie in Finnish before, so I enjoyed getting to watch it in English for the first time. I still remembered all the songs' Finnish lyrics and it amused me. As for Pinocchio, I'd never seen the movie in its entirety before, so it was a real treat. I can't believe how great the animation was for a cartoon film made in 1940. Now that I think about it, The Jungle Book's animation was much less lively most of the time. I wonder why that is. I remember seeing some old Donald Duck cartoons and their animation being very impressive as well.
The next movie I'll go see is definitely Big Hero 6. It only arrived in cinemas here last month, but sadly it's with a Finnish dub only in my hometown. I'll have to go see it somewhere else.
