Pokémon Sun and Moon? Nice. I was wondering what sort of legendaries they could possibly come up with after Land, Sea, Sky, Time, Space, God, Devil, Truth, Ideals, Life, Death and Balance, but it seems I was worried over nothing. I just hope the Sun and Moon legendaries won't be equines, because that most likely wouldn't end well.
Luna is best legendary.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMzwcIG8vgk -This is not another Pokémon Origins, this is like those anime promotion videos for Black 2 and White 2 and ORAS. I'm interested in seeing the events from the non-playable characters that you never got to see in the games (like Blue becoming the Kanto League Champion).

That poor Pikachu. All the legendaries just really want to attack it.

Goddamnit, don't tell me the only player character we're going to see in these is Red. That first video certainly looked that way. I hope I'm wrong, because I can't stand Red's fans. Reading that video's comments was torture. Why can't those morons realize that Red is not a real character like Ash, because WE, the players, are all Red. That's why he was allowed to use his whole team against Gym Leaders and how he beat the Elite Four so easily in Pokémon Origins. If he had been following the same anime rules as Ash, Brock and Giovanni (and presumably every other Gym Leader as well) would have kicked his cheating ass multiple times over. The whole point of Pokémon Origins was to show what the anime would be like if it worked exactly like the games, and that's exactly why those fucking Redsuckers shouldn't compare it to the main series.
Anyway... Assuming that Red won't be the only player character who will appear in these videos and that I will have the willpower to not read the comments, I might actually enjoy Pokémon Generations. The first two episodes weren't really bad at all. Reading the comments just pissed me off so much that I had to vent.

Ash has had a couple of gym battles where they used a different amount than the leader. He needed a full team to beat Roxie, and 3 Pokemon to defeat Grant's 2. His rematch with Whitney was 3 on 1. And Haunter in Ash's rematch against Sabrina was at worst counted as Ash's second Pokemon against Kadabra when he was already using Pikachu, and at best a third party that still influenced Ash earning a badge.
And I don't think the player characters will really be showcased outside of maybe cameos. I think the point of Generations will be to showcase events from other characters' perspectives. In the first episode's case, we never really get a good look at Red's face, it's usually shadowed, covered, or turned away. The focus was on his Pikachu, and the point of using Red for all six generations was just to indicate that it's the same Pikachu going through all these things. Since it's episode 1, it's possibly also supposed to be symbolic of Generations as a whole that it'll be going through the various generations. We the players will be going through everything, or already have, just like Pikachu.
So best case scenario, we'd probably get minor appearances of other player characters in shorts that focus on rival characters. Like we know Red will show up in the short about how Blue became champion (not sure if we'll even see their battle or if it'll just be about only what we didn't see). Maybe stuff like some focus on Silver like as he's rethinking his way with some mentions or visuals on his battles with Gold/Ethan, or how Wally got through Victory Road and ends up meeting Brendan/May at the end. Or in the case of other supporting characters, since we do know we'll see Cheryl in one short we might see what she was up to in Eterna Forest right before meeting with Lucas/Dawn.

Here's the 3rd episode: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ktskEn5q7gg -"Thats not Gary Oak, he's Green or Blue Oak" challenges the Kanto Elite 4. Like marimo said; the focus of Generations is on the non-playable characters, it's the reason why Red doesn't speak and his face is shadowed. They don't want you to pay attention to Red, they want your centre point of interest to be on what/whoever is in the light and making a sound.

Can't say as I'm very struck with Generations, myself. Aside from the not-being-the-anime... There's no investment in the characters. The battles... are bleh because they don't show anything than more than one attack. It all smacks a bit too much to me of shouting "look how cool I iz" over anything else. Or at the very least, taking itself FAR to seriously. Because at the end of the day, it's still about magic animals cock-fighting under the control of children and teenagers! It feels like they are trying for "more adult" in the worst possible way, y'know. Pokémon is not suited for a dark and gritty reboot in my opinion. (I'm definitely MC, not DCU, as it were.)
And on the player-character issue? I was never Red. Not even in Generation 1 (when, for my sins played played Gen 1 & 2 on *gasp* emulators in university*). I shout at the screen far too often - and from the very start, my team had their own personalities quirks...! (Re-booted in Gen III when I started playing "properly..!") The voiceless non-reacting thing never sits well with me at the best of times. So Red fails as a character insert. (I've never read the manga, either.)
So Generations doesn't work for me, not like the trailer for B2W2, which was... Yeah! I think that's why we got XY as good as we did, because, like, everyone asked "why can't THIS be the main series?" - and we seemed to pretty much get the main series made into that, so...
(XY is spoiling me, certainly, on animation quality, as well, Generations doesn't seem to be anything like the same level, which doesn't help, either. (And I winced rather a lot at the trailers for the Sun/Moon anime. On first blush, it looks like from the sublime to riduculous and in this case, the phrase nearly literall applied...!)
*Yes, I am THAT old...!

But the episodes so far haven't even been that dark and gritty. At most there was episode 2 which made the world seem a bit more realistic than how it's usually portrayed with them actually doing a police raid on the Viridian gym, but even then what exactly was so dark and gritty about it? That Looker's police squad is geared up like a SWAT team?

Time for episode 4: www.youtube.com/watch?v=hlh4jKv184E -Lance and his Dragonite, with help from Ethan, infiltrate Team Rocket's secret base. The animation and art on this episode was awful, everything looked stilted and ugly. And just what the fuck with the Rocket Grunts' way of walking. Also Ethan's face was shadowed and he didn't speak, just like Red. So yeah, it was revealed before, but the focus is on the non-playable characters.

So I'm going to guess that these episodes will be going in chronological order (or in episode 1's case, it started at the earliest point). From Red in Viridian Forest catching a Pikachu, to the aftermath of the Viridian Gym battle, to Blue becoming Champion right before Red challenges him, to the Lake of Rage incident and storming Team Rocket's hideout. And I know some games take place around the same time, like DP happening at the same time as GS. I mean we go from gen to gen in order with the events of each gen happening chronologically.
Though I suppose they're not all necessarily in the same continuity to begin with if Red in episode 1 has a Bulbasaur while Blue in episode 3 has a Blastoise, meaning Red should've chosen a Charmander
Also, I've heard there's going to be 18 episodes for this series. So possibly 3 episodes per gen, not including VII since it'd just be starting and will be getting the main anime's attention anyway, with episode 1 counting as part of gen 1.

Episodes 5 and 6 are here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=19T-UN3igrQwww.youtube.com/watch?v=rga9wUdKRk8 ....Uh, you know, my mind has completely blank on what kind of description to give the top one, so I'll stop doing them now. I'm glad they covered the plot with Silver and Giovanni. Surprisingly there are viewers who're just now finding out Silver is Giovanni's son. We sort of get to see what Raikou, Entei and Suicune looked like before being revived by Ho-oh after perishing and.... they look like dogs.

Dogs, huh? Eusine called them "three unnamed Pokémon", so I guess the popular theory about them being either three Eevee or a Vaporeon, Jolteon and Flareon before dying is now destroyed. Dagnabbit.
That aside, episodes five and six are probably my favorites so far.

Episode 5: Silver's last meeting with dad, and it was pretty whiny. Well, Giovanni was just about to ditch him, possibly for good, so I can't really blame him. I'm glad Silver turned out pretty well in the end.
