883: Harimaron! Hajimete no o Tsukai!!
876: Adventures in Running Errands!
The twerps just managed to narrowly avoid yet another rainstorm by ducking into a Pokémon Center on the way to Anistar City. And while their they might as well have Nurse Joy give their Pokémon The Works.
Bonnie like a small child... which she is... whines about the rain rain, hoping it'll go away, and come again NEVVVVEEEEERRRRRR!
But this is the perfect time because Clemont thought they would encounter a situation in which they'd be stuck inside because of a rainsto... actually, all things considered, that's appropriately prescient of him.
Anyway today's piece of Clemontic Gear is the "Weather Predictor", and it collects data, like the movement of rain cloud, wind, humidity and... Clemont basically invented a grounded Weather satellite, which already exists as evidenced by me giving it a name. The data collection won't be able to spit out a prediction until a day from now, when assuredly the rain would have already have passed, and they would no longer need the weather forecast anyway.
Clemont decides that since his invention from last week didn't explode, he'll test fate and crank this one up to 11, again. Unfortunately, he doesn't have as much success this time.
Looks like the only way Bonnie will be entertained tonight is if they go on...
(so, basically like every other day for the twerps, right?)
Nurse Joy brings the Pokémon back out after fixing them up, but unfortunately it;s still raining, so the Twerps decide to freeload just a little bit longer.
As it turns out, the rain isn't just inconvenient for freeloading children, but apparently the ceiling in the electrical room is leaking, and thus it shorts out the equipment, and shuts all the power in the Center off.
Hilariously, Ash yells "What's going on here" as if he's expecting a Team Rocket attack.
Clemont assumes their may be a problem with the main system and asks if he can take a look at it, and Nurse Joy has absolutely no problem letting some 10-year old stranger she only just met poke around with dangerous electrical equipment, sure I know he practically lives in a electrical tower, and once invented a device that rains electricity down on ailing Electric-type Pokémon, but SHE doesn't know that. Apparently no one's told her about Personal Injury Lawsuits.
The electricity is sparking from the breakers, and helpless and dumb Nurse Joy just doesn't know what to do, like maybe call a Handy-Man that I assume a hospital would have on speed-dial just in case a situation like this were to occur. Also, for some reason this Pokémon Center doesn't have a back up generator, or any reserve power, so the other Pokémon she was treating are in danger of, you know, dying.
Bonnie and Serena volunteer to help Joy, despite not being qualified NA's, and Ash plans to head to the roof to repair the leak, despite it still raining, and again another potential Personal Injury Suit for Joy. Nurse Joy runs a shitty ship here in this unnamed City.
Clemont then decides to use Luxray and Pikachu to use their electricity to run the power for the Center, and Bonnie volunteers Dedenne, despite how generally weak it is.
The healing equipment still isn't working, so Joy gives the trainers berries to hold them over until the power comes back.
Ash: Amateur Roofer, heads to the top and almost falls off, illustrating how careless Joy is being with these kid's well-being. Ash calls on Hawlucha and Frogadier to help him, first by using Frogadier's frubbles to make him steady walking, and then sending him to scout the rest of the roof for anymore holes.
Meanwhile inside, Nurse Joy who couldn't get qualified professionals to help her with anything going on the the Center, apparently did the only thing she's good for and outfitted Serena and Bonnie in nurses uniforms that matched hers to help pass out berries.
She feebly checks in on Clemont who tells her that a fuse in the panel blew, he asks if she has a spare, and as unprepared as ever, she responds that she doesn't. But a shop might have one, before Clemont can leave another fuse blows, and the panel starts throwing electricity again.
And then Chespin releases itself from it's Pokéball, apparently it's volunteering to go pick up the fuse that the Center will need, because the shopkeeper will gladly voluntarily give appliances to random animals coming in to buy stuff. Clemont sends Bunnelby with him because Chespin's kind of an idiot and would totally get lost on the way.
With Chespin and Bunnelby separated from the twerps, Team Rocket has the idea to capture them, and then use them as some sort of leverage to catch Pikachu.
Meanwhile, during Chespin and Bunnelby's travels, Chespin does everything in his power to annoy poor Bunnelby, from splashing in puddles like a 5 year old, to running to the ice cream shop like a 6 year old, to hitting on random Marrill like a pervy 30-year old.
And then for whatever reason, he decides to hold Clemont's coin purse in the air, just high enough for a random thieving Fearow to swoop down and steal it.
Ash has apparently finished the roof, though, I wouldn't really trust his craftsmanship, and walks in on the girls in their Nurse Joy cosplay, Serena blushes and asks Ash how she looks, and he tells her it looks "comfortable", because he completely misses the obvious sexual context clues she's throwing out, and comments that Bonnie does too to fully destroy Serena's dreams of Ash dropping her pantyhose and doing her right on Nurse Joy's desk.
Chespin and Bunnelby meanwhile are still chasing the fast escaping Fearow, before Chespin has the genius idea to use it's Vine Whip to throw Bunnelby at it, thus grabbing Clemont's coin purse away allowing them to escape, after Bunnelby uses Dig and Fearow stupidly tries to follow the two down the tiny hole it made.
And thus they set back off, standing over the countryside on a search for the shop, back at the Center Ash noting that the two are still gone, and thus he sends Fletchinder and Noibat to look after them, sending them "in the direction of that hill", as Chespin and Bunnelby somehow have figured out which building is the shop they need to head towards, despite not being able to read.
But it's not going to be that easy because, look who it is.
"Prepare for trouble, say 'Chespin' all day!"
"And make it double, that's all you can say!"
"To protect the world from devastation!"
"To Unite all people within our nation!"
"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"
"To extend our reach to the stars above!"
"Jesse!"
"And James!"
"Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light!"
"Surrender your errands () and prepare to fight!"
"MEOWTH, THAT'S RIGHT!
"WOOOOBBBBUUUUUFFFFFEEEEETTTTTT!"
Well, Chespin and Bunnelby don't like being told that they're being used as bait, and Chespin tells Team Rocket to kiss his ass, so they send out their Pokémon, Gourgeist and Inkay, to stand them down.
Chespin uses the words from Clemont about him counting on him, and runs head first into a Tackle from Inkay, knocking him on his ass. Afterwhich, Bunnelby blocks a Psybeam with a Mud Shot. It's now Jesse's turn, and she starts with a Seed Bomb... that Chespin blocks with Vine Whip, and NOW Jesse's mad. She sends in Gourgeist with another Shadowball... that gets blown up be Fletchinder flying straight through. It doesn't seem like putting yourself in direct line of attack should work, but it does.
And Ash shows up from the rear, which makes you wonder why he bothered sending Fletchinder and Noibat to look for them, if he was just going to follow the path anyway.
With Team Rocket now distracted by Ash, Chespin (or all People... err, Pokémon) comes up with an idea, they use Dig to show up behind Team Rocket, as Bunnelby Shots Mud in their faces, and Chespin blasts them off with Pin Missile.
And they return with the fuse, as Pikachu and Luxray are about ready to die (Dedenne quit hours ago), Clemont puts it in (heh) and the power is back up.
Clemont congratulates Chespin by giving him THE MOST FOOD, and he eats it all until he gets sick, which is great because their in a Pokémon Center.
Will Chespin survive his gluttony? Find out next time as the journey is...
