I made this yesterday, but didn't put it up until today. When I made it, I did so before actually listening to the scene in question. Now that I've heard it, I can say with a fully-informed mind: the music was far too loud for what the animation was showing to be a tender moment. Though I know TPCi will fix it, I decided to do so as well by drawing from a soundtrack that's on a tier above anything Pokemon. I think it worked out fine. How about the rest of you?

Also, this week is your last chance to get Zeraora merchandise! Make sure to watch all the way till the end!!
I won't lie... They made Guzzlord seem as unnatural as possible. Coming pretty much out of nowhere... Eating literally anything, even moves... It's roars sounding like screams... I also think each mouth has a different voice. Black-masked Tapu Koko was right about getting some help.
Full summary and voice cast for SM102 (there will be a break the week after this episode)-
Takeshi and Kasumi have come to Alola! They enjoy all that Alola has to offer by joining the others in sightseeing, Maintain Surfing and the like! However, the evil clutches of the Rocket Gang descend upon these hours of enjoyment...

They close in on the group, attempting to steal their Pokémon using an all new Nyarth Robot! Note that there will be a break next week. The next episode airs Sunday January 6th 2019 at 6pm!
I like it when they use instrumentals of intro songs from previous series in the current one, because it's a nice reminder of them, but "XYZ" was one I was hoping they would stay clear from (by the way, the title of that track is actually "Satoshi-Gekkouga Appears!") because I know the XY stans have been desperately trying to gather any evidence they can find to prove that Serena and/or Gekkouga will appear in Alola and this just added to it. Giving that spotlight stealing, overrated, ninja frog that special transformation was by far the biggest mistake of the entire Pokémon anime, it brought out the worst in the fandom, people who only cared about 'epic battles' and not anything else, wanting Satoshi to be 'cool and serious' (aka; one of the most boring anime protagonists ever, because how dare a 10 year old child act his age) XY&Z was just a tainted series.
You can no longer enjoy a song that you like once it has been sullied by other people and/or when it's the theme of one of the worst things ever.
Satoshi's good friends! Takeshi & Kasumi have arrived! We definitely recommend watching Pokémon with your parents in 2019! First off, a duo dad and mom are familiar with will appear!!
Kasumi: A girl that used to travel with Satoshi and Takeshi Takeshi: He's currently studying to become a Pokémon Doctor!
These two have come to visit all the way from the faraway Kanto region. Takeshi is in really high spirits here, what kind of unusual object or scenery was it he saw...?
Takeshi has a fateful encounter in the Alola region?! Takeshi falls in love with pretty girls at first sight!! The object of his affection is Island Queen Lychee! And the best way to befriend her is with a battle!
Usokkie: The partner of Rock type Trainer Takeshi! Lugarugan (Midday Form): Lychee's partner is a Rock type as well! It's quite formidable!
The flames of passionate love blaze forth?! The two both specialize in Rock type Pokémon, so they're perfect for each other? ...or are they? See for yourself in the episode airing January 6th 2019!!! (airdate and time varies depending on region)
The ending theme will change with the episode airing Sunday January 13th!
The ending theme will change to the choir song "Kokoro no note", which is written and composed by Taiiku Okazaki, with the episode airing Sunday January 13th. The vocals are done by the Hino Nanaomidori Elementary School Choir, which took gold 6 years in a row in the Elementary School Division of the NHK All-Japan School Choir Competition! Come on, everyone, learn the song and try singing it with friends!
Title: Kokoro no note (The Notebook of the Heart) Lyrics/composition: Taiiku Okazaki Arrangement: Akimitsu Honma Label: SME Records
I expect an emotional song, from the title and a choir singing it, I'm glad, I've missed those types of endings, the last time we got it was in Best Wishes.
SM104: Research Projects on Poni Island! Find the Island King!!
SM103 What will be the outcome of Takeshi and Lychee's passionate battle?! Satoshi and the others have invited Takeshi and Kasumi to Alola. They've now decided to go to Akala Island, since Takeshi wants to meet Island Queen Lychee. And when Lychee learns Takeshi is a former Gym Leader, she challenges him to a battle.
SM104 Satoshi and the others have gone to Poni Island to work on research projects. They all decide on their subjects, but Satoshi ends up getting suspected of being a daikon thief by Hapu'u, a girl he meets on the island. And then the Skull Gang show up as well...
It's off to Akala Island with Takeshi and Kasumi! A passionate battle between Island Queen Lychee and former Gym Leader Takeshi, both of the Rock type Trainers, breaks out!! And then the Rocket Gang shows up...
Summary: Takeshi and Kasumi have come to Alola, and today they and all the others are going to Akala Island! After they've all helped out at Kaki's farm, they decide to go meet Island Queen Lychee, Takeshi leading the way, burning with a desire to meet her as he is. Lychee seems bewildered at how excited Takeshi is, but once she learns that he was the leader of a Rock type Gym in the Kanto region, she gets really motivated for a battle, and challenges him to one. And then the Rocket Gang show up with a powered up robot...
Ryu Taylor, Dub Lover: Sorry, it's just that after SM021 and M21, I know Mima's gonna be three for three when it comes to terribly mishandling emotional moments.
Feb 9, 2019 18:50:46 GMT -4
Donkarasu: But at least you're fine with episode 79, because you've never said anything about it.
Feb 9, 2019 19:02:38 GMT -4
Ryu Taylor, Dub Lover: That was a lucky case of not bad but the dub did better.
Feb 9, 2019 19:09:02 GMT -4
Donkarasu: Masafumi Mima said he got goosebumps when selecting the music for a certain episode and even the voice actors were brought to tears, I'm certain it was indeed episode 108 that he was talking about: twitter.com/Sunma47/status/1073896011758587909
Feb 9, 2019 19:12:11 GMT -4
Ryu Taylor, Dub Lover: That's fine and good for them. Mima's just unfortunately given me lots of reasons not to trust his music placement skills (actually, lack thereof).
Feb 9, 2019 22:39:49 GMT -4
Ryu Taylor, Dub Lover: Looks like I'm right not to have believed him when he promised I'd cry at the onscreen events. But I can give him a bit of credit: it turned out better than SM021 and M21 did, so that's a relief.
Feb 10, 2019 10:26:25 GMT -4
Ryu Taylor, Dub Lover: It ended up with the same results SM079JP did: a "well, okay, that happened. Can't wait for the dub to improve it" kind of feeling.
Feb 10, 2019 10:27:06 GMT -4
Ryu Taylor, Dub Lover: BTW, I watched it in the first place just because of how cocky Mima was about it.
Feb 10, 2019 18:07:31 GMT -4
Donkarasu: I'm just going to say it now: I will not be happy when TPCI fills the silent moments with music. Silence is needed especially in tear-jerking episodes as it helps set the mood for a depressing atmosphere (it's hard to describe, so I tried my best).
Feb 11, 2019 5:46:51 GMT -4
Donkarasu: It's more Reina Ueda's voice acting as Mao (I can't believe anyone who thinks she wasn't amazing) and the dialogue and less so the background music used which makes those scenes so heart breaking and caused me and others to cry or tear up.
Feb 12, 2019 10:04:15 GMT -4
Donkarasu: While I said I wasn't going to talk about the whole controversy around Vic Mignogna, I do want to say one thing about it and that's, it kind puts me off anything to do with Funimation, especially due to other voice actors being involved in this.
Feb 17, 2019 8:44:25 GMT -4
ShiningStarlia: That is my biggest grief behind it. They honestly shouldn't of said anything at all, rather than outright lashing at fans that disagree with them.
Feb 17, 2019 19:44:19 GMT -4
Donkarasu: Regarding Sean Schemmel being the latest person to be a part of it, that causes me to say this: Even if you're not a fan of Masako Nozawa's Goku voice, at least she's a kind woman who respects fans and has never caused any sort of controversy.
Feb 18, 2019 13:03:11 GMT -4
Donkarasu: And for the record, this is not the only time Schemmel did/said something which caused some outrage.
Feb 18, 2019 13:04:46 GMT -4
ShiningStarlia: Yeah, I'm aware. His past sins have come to light and while I was able to tolerate a lot of it, his latest episode was were the line in the sand has been crossed. Cancelled Funimation account as well.
Feb 18, 2019 23:00:57 GMT -4
ShiningStarlia: If he's gonna be an arrogant butt that insults the hands that feed him, then he'll have to accept the consequences of it and hopefully that'll stick. Still yeah. I was never annoyed with Nozawa's Goku voice and she is really nice.
Feb 18, 2019 23:03:51 GMT -4
ShiningStarlia: I mean, Goku's supposed to sound like a disrespectful county hic (remember his inspiration from Journey of the West which the Monkey King routinely pissed off the gods)
Feb 18, 2019 23:05:54 GMT -4
ShiningStarlia: and I think most complaints stem from just different tastes in vocals from us overseas. I honestly wonder why people make a really big deal out of it. Not everyone is Norio Wakamoto
